Update: Formatting the stick with the SQ resolved the issue. Formatting it again with the CQ bricks it. So something in the CQ formatting logic is strange/non-compliant

Here are some screenshots. After plugging the stick from the mac back into my windows machine it gets at least listed in the disk management tool from windows, but I can’t assign any drive letters, nor format the device (“device path not found”).

So effectively the stick is now bricked and can only be used with the CQ but I can’t get any files off from it.
I’ll try to see if formatting with the SQ fixes the issue

Quick update: I think I found a solution, will be included in the next update of Mixing Station V2.0.5

    Hi there,

currently Mixing Station doesn’t know how to process the passwords stored on the SQ mixer.
This is (as of now) only supported by Mixing Station on the Qu-series mixers but the SQ has a different algorithm.
The main reason for this being not available in MS is that I am unable to fully determine how to validate the passwords.

There are some possible ways how to handle this issue:
    a) Mixing Station checks if an admin password is set and just refuses to work in non-restricted mode. This would prevent the issue that you had but also prevent FoH users to use Mixing Station.

    b) Someone from A&H might be willing to provide some hints for me how to validate the passwords and I can implement it similar to the Qu version.

Regardless I’ll take a look at it again, maybe I see something that I’ve missed last time.

Doh, sorry wrong alarm! I accidentally muted the FX return via mixing station during development yesterday and then forgot about it (since it’s not visible in the mixpad UI)

The label of the knob is just wrong, the knob position correctly follows the knob position of the gain

You could use Mixing Station as a translator. It supports OSC and REST API for nearly all channel parameters.

I just found out via Facebook that there is a “known issue” with the Space Echo causes freezes..
Why do I have to go to Facebook to find stuff like this?

A&H come-on, if your support knows about known issues the least you could do is openly communicate them so I don’t have to find them on my own during a show!
It’s also really shocking to me how silent this forum post is, I would have expected much more involvement from A&H since this is a showstopper!

You can hate behringer as much as you want but if they know about a crash in their mixer firmware they either openly communicate it or deliver a hotfix within 1-2 days.. just saying I’m a bit disappointed to A&H at this point.

So A&H can you please(!) provide a list of your known issues? Got a couple of bigger shows and I would really like to use the Avantis (and be confident it doesn’t crash on me). If I know all the issues I can work around them, no problem.

Okay I’m not sure if the forum is broken but my previous post is gone? So here is it again, hopefully it stays visible this time.
    =============
Update: I found a couple of more UI issues and freeze conditions:

    Bugs:
    1) When using copy/paste/listen buttons while channel knobs are assigned the text is out of bounds and not fully readable
    2) When touching a fader the left side of the channel area has a dark bar which makes the text of the knob assignment hard to read

    Performance:
    1) When pressing any copy/paste/listen/reset buttons the UI freezes for a short abound of time.
    2) When 2 Dyn8 views (on both screens) the UI lags hard, you can see in my video the meters lagging.
    3) When doing both at the same time the UI can freeze for more than 2 seconds

    Here is a sample video:

you can see the LR meter getting much more responsive after I’ve closed the two dyn8 windows. However the UI still freezes when pressing reset (at 0:13).
To be honest that makes the mixer pretty hard to use in stressful situations, especially since all the UI is on the screens and the metering is affected.

My guess is that A&H is working on the issues, but can someone confirm?

@Hurley: Yes I agree, I’m using mixing station as a fallback now for the Dyn8, but I hope this gets resolved.

Yes and no: I don’t own any dLive components and I don’t have easy access to them. However I was able to build a rough prototype using the dLive Director software, but I’m not sure how good it covers the actual hardware. So depending on how well/bad it works there might be support for dLive as well. Otherwise I’ll need to get a CDM first 🙂

Just released a new version of Mixing Station, including support for the Avantis mixer series.

The most important changes for the SQ are:
    – Channel Link and Quickgang feature: Allows you to link arbitary channels together, or batch edit them relatively to eachother. Super helpful when adjusting gains/thresholds of multiple channels (for example drums). See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLx8Jjchq7s for more details
    – Dedicated “Tap Delay” action
    – Layout editor is now easier to use and includes predefined buttons
    – Opto compressor now accessible (with fancy graphics)
    – Improved gain reduction visibility in MultiDB/Dyn8
    – Improved routing matrix with lock feature

The full changelogs can be found here:
    https://mixingstation.app/changelogs

Also a quick sidenote on the Avantis integration: It is also possible to access input signal routing, Dyn8/MultiDB and FX racks within Mixing Station.

As far as I know this is not possible, however you could use Mixing Station (https://mixingstation.app/) as a translator between midi and the mixer. It natively supports mackie control and general midi. Depending on how the FaderPort 16 identifies iteself you might need to tweek it a bit.

Currently the avantis integration is in beta testing but will soon be released

The Mixing Station app has avantis support currently in its beta phase but already allows routing of all input channels (see screenshot).
If you want you can join the beta and test it out:

    https://mixingstation.app/

Details on how to join the beta:
    https://mixingstation.app/ms-docs/beta/

Note: Mixing Station will also support Dyn8 and FX control with future updates

    Still without A&H Support?

Yep, that’s why some of the features for A&H mixers take (much) more time to develop, but in the end I get there 🙂

Long time since I last posted here, but I’m happy to announce the next big update for mixing station.
This release includes a few new things for A&H mixers as well:
    – There is now a dedicated layout for the DynEQ and multiband compressors. All of them can be easily tweaked by dragging, similar to a regular PEQ
    – All SMR FX now have the expert parameters available
    – All premium compressor models now got fancy graphics
    – Sidechain and parallel path options
    – Signal generator
    – ReGain feature is now more easily accessible

Additionly there were a lot of smaller features and fixes. The entire changelog can be found here. The update should appear in the next 24h in the appstore.
