    Haven’t seen that…Had a borrowed 24

    Im getting a new 32 soon…so I hope it’s not an issue…

    Albeit I run win 7 64bit enterprise on a i7-4790 unlocked with 16gig of ram and hardware raid 10 at 10 2tb drives sata3 7500k drives…

I built this machine for new board, so not much time on it…

Software Audobe cs6.5 (Audition), Protools 10, FL studio, office, tons of vst’s

But, I didn’t see any spikes when I was running the driver…

I’d say check that your not running out of memory (swap kills), and dump ANY loaded drivers and software you can…

    Scan and defrag the drive(s)…

I did have an issue with a machine a few years back where the video driver was just incompatible with the m-audio device…I ended up trying the latest…no good…ended up dumping the factory (amd) software and just let windows load it’s drivers and all was good…didn’t need high speed video anyhow…

Not using that software, I’m an audition/protools PC user…

You should be able to bring in the tracks and look at the wave form to time align…

Similar to gridding out a song…just insert a break on a beat and align the other track to it…

We already have a topic on this issue…

    Well,

    Glad the clicks are gone…

Sucks on the last 3 seconds…

I guess you could add three seconds to the end of each file…till its fixed…

    Or, use an external player…

I use one of my kaleidescape systems for bumper audio…I’ve got about 150k tracks on there…

    Well,

    Perhaps I’m not understanding…

But if your FOH will use the eq on the input…

And your output channels will use the eq on the outputs…

    Correct…

Or are you looking for another intermediate one…

    Like FOH on input…
    Each output has one…

But one in the middle to eq/delay the voice without effecting the rest of the output channel…

If so, you could use an fx channel to do some work…internal fx…
Or just send loop it via using an output just for the voice and a return…and use either of the processing for the voice…

    Ex…
    Voice on channel 8…
Use Pre eq…route to output x…and p,ug that back into input y…
Continue using the FOH as normal…
And use the non eq versions as you did already…

Hop either of them will work…

If your wanting something else or I’m off let me know…there are lots of options…

    Well,

    Dca’s are an option….

But, not many of them…and having easily setups like multi keyboards and even multi output amps as well…

For instance our guitar player plays 2mesa boogies, and 2 Hughes and Ketner rigs…(yes 4 100watt amps and 4 cabs) and its nice to have them all linked…

As for backup signers DCA is better…allowing to tweak I one is getting louder than the rest…etc…

    Both would be Awsome…

Perhaps change the setting to just a follow fader option…

Then if it’s 1-2 select two to follow one…

    1-2-6-7 its 2-follow 1. 6-follow 2. 7-follow 6.

Not sure on ah software, but will allow any number of and offset of faders with just one setting per channel similar to thier setup that exists…just pick the channel…

    Yes,

Linking unlimited/any fader is very useful…

    Well,

    Anything is possible…

But there is only so much available money and time…

The question I have is why?

Every daw I currently use will up/down convert streams real time…

Currently even on the new HD rigs most recording is still being done at 48k…

I have 96k on most my systems and still use 48k 99% of the time…even running on the ssl4056g+ and into brand new HD gear still capture at 48K

Now once in the box it’s all 32bit float and 96k for processing…

Just curious the need/want on your end…when I burn a cd it only takes like 30seconds to conform to the cd format

    Yes,

Shutdown hard, or have a buffer empty, or a hd that is “green” goto low power, or blah blah…

We will need much more info to try to replicate/look into…
    Hard drive used…
    Stable power…
    Fw version…
    That’s just to start

Now, in addition to a piece of hardware lagging (being to slow) to support the quite massive amount of IO…there are other issues I’ve seen in the area…

If the hard disk is banged, bumped, thumped, vibrated, molested, jostled, etc…you can quickly get some minor read/write errors…but, the hard disks do have a buffer to handle this to a point…

So, a hard drive that on a perfect day with no interference electrically or mechanically can easily go bad quickly…in the digital realm the second the buffer overfills the stream is corrupted (data lost) and the file will in all likelihood be unusable…so most software on getting a notice there is dropped data, will truncate the stream, thereby saving the steams that aren’t already corrupted in theory…

In practice, it usually ends up in a complete loss of the session the millisecond you start loosing packets in the stream…that’s digital…it either works…or not…

Now, of you have a very reliable (not many or little write errors) fast drive and more buffers that gives you some headroom…

    My suggestion…

Check that drives performance, and for errors…
Build or buy a nice shock isolated platform…like for studio monitors…and use that to hold the drive…thereby taking some of the vibration out of the drive…even going so far as getting or building a small vented isolated enclosure would be perfect…

As example, I’m a pilot…I remember when the first iPods came out…the hard disk ones…I used it all the time for music into the headsets on my birds…

    Worked great!

Then one day I was in a friends small (4 person) airplane…and the iPod was on the dash(glare shield)…and it started skipping and just eventually…after only a couple of mins stopped…

The vibration of that single engine at 2400 rpm was the right pitch to cause an issue…

Changed the rpm to 2450…worked great…2400 nope!

So a frequency at a specific spl can quite easily cause major faults…and one they start…it’s all but over!

Let us know your config, where your drive was sitting…and/or mounted…spl in that area…ability to be bumped or knocked around…

    Well,

Try converting the file to the native format…48k 24bit…

Don’t know thier software, but from the description it’s a non flushed cache…

File is being converted (I assume) from 44.1 to 48k….as it loads there is needed a cache/buffer to store a few seconds for the converter…then when it comes to the end of the file…the converter stops, being done…and most likely isn’t continuing to stream the data left in the buffer…

Now, I don’t know thier code so I may be wrong…but I’ve seen this many time in DIgital Media, and audio chanes requiring processing…

    Ok,

That’s cool, your holding the data till you decide to commit it to the console…

I’m actually an automation programmer currently mostly crestron…

So, I’m always dealing in real time and so that is my thought unless I see it’s a batch/commit type of a setup…

Not sure how your holding data and such and if your going tout in some form of file control into it…

Right now you get 100 “shows” on the board…and you can dump/upload an entire new config for another 100 each time iirc…so in essence unlimited…but not real bullet proof and easy…

If, once you get the program doing everything including names and everything…

It would be awsome to have the “shows” or config in a nice data structure for easy recal…

I run several outboard pcs on my mixing desk…so having that would be great…and I see that there would be others in a small studio that may like/need this too…

FYI, my private studio is where the qu I going..qu-32 just waiting on arrival..just about 1000 square feet…24×10 stage on one end with 24×6 built in snakes…and stepped seating for use on demos with bands and I also use the room for a movie theater as well as live…running 9 QSC k series for mains…2 ksubs…and k10’s for stage monitors

Currently running a Yamaha 32 channel board…and have several audio interfaces…but needed more channels, and more daw control, total recall etc…

This is just a practice/scratch track/live room exclusively…and the tracks are used to capture the dynamic feel of the sessions to keep it real and live sound, even though most tracks end up getting dubbed over…

Anyhow, I’m looking forward to the board arriving and patching it in, I can see a real need to go beyond the ah internal 100 config…

I currently have about a dozen acts I work/produce and they all have a fairly wide array of songs/setup…

My original plan was a USB key for each act…albeit not great I think it will work…just having to swap them and whatnot is just a pain…inevitably there will be the misplaced USB stick, inadvertently storing one act’s scene on another’s…etc

Now, jump on my pc that is used for sequencing dmx lighting and programming the EC dc-one’s for the room eq, delays, breakout, etc…would be perfect…

Open up your program, browse to the current act (folder) pick the song/performance and load it in…

Now, I’m hoping you’d be able to save current config…but if not its still usable…just have to replicate changes off line and resale the show…

Let me know what your thoughts are, as I see this as a nice feature/add on package…

Even adding into the up/download he full user library would be totally trick…

This board does have a split personality
one being live, no need for a pc, and quick setup via dsnake and powerful for shows
Two being installed/studio (albeit not for production) space using the USB audio nterface, daw control, automation, via protools or in my case I use audition for editing…I don’t like virt instruments an if needed I have other systems for that…I like to keep things separate…

Recording for production I have other spaces…one neve…and another ssl 4056G+ with konecktor…

I do see this becoming for studio use a very handy and whial not essential will streamline the workflow…

    Good idea…

I don’t use the qu drive to the daw much…

But it would be very nice to have the name of the track…

Perhaps a setup option for names would be even better…

    Like options,
    #1 – Track_num.wav
    #2 – Track_name.wav
    #3 – Track_name-Track_num.wav
    #4 – Track_num-Track_name.wav

I can see uses for all those depending on where and what the console is being used for…

I myself would use #3 in my studio easy search/look for the musician when loading files onto the daw would be slick…

    Awsome…

Nicola, any chance of posting a list of the ideas on the table…

Even better having a poll with the list of new features we can vote on…

I run alpha software and work with these things all the time on the network gear side for a few companies…

It’s nice to have a list of proposed features your working on or thinking on and getting feedback on the amount of users that are interested in that feature…I find it very valuable to direct assets to where the highest market share is gained/appeased…

It’s also a great PR and feel good general moral boosting all warm and soft fuzzy type of a thing too 🙂

    Well,

It’s possible to do that, but!

The killer is going to be delay with any thing in this Catagory…

That’s fine on several effects like a delay 🙂

But real time outboard pc effects processing gets tricky to get everything bulletproof…lots of middle men…drivers…OS…hardware…software…

I’ve done this with other boards in varying brands and price points…and if everything is built right…which is out of a-h hands on most of it…

I don’t see why you wouldn’t just use the regular analog to outboard gear…that’s way more reliable and less to point fingers at different vendors and the Lag of the loop should be one the board end a hard number as for timing…

    Just my take…
