    Nice intel here.

I’m interested in what configurations are used so the artist can talk to FOH or monitor land from onstage without the House knowing.

@shuahughes, What’s Dual Rack and how does it affect your MixPad/OneMix flexibility?

Reviving as I’m sure I’m not the only new person to iLive, MixPad and Editor.

I’m DISO a manual also. Does anyone have anything??

    …remember, everyone started from nothing.

Another surface question – not really housekeeping tho.

I want to play around with recording my L/R mains through a Duet2 into Logic.

I’ve patched the iLive to ports 5/6 on the surface as MAIN L/R.

Does anyone know what level that goes out the board? Line? +4/-10 or something? I wasn’t getting signal into my duet. So the troubleshooting (and questions) begin. Starting at the source.

    Thanks!

@Elphie, the Alesis HD24 has come up in the past. But the boss is keen on trying to make the Lightbridge work.

@fab, I’ll look into the m-waves card. I’m not sure why we have the MMO aside from recording. Along with the 3 ADAT outs to the LIghtbridge, we also have 2 cables coming out of the iDR expander on the MMO into an 8-channel iDR expander unit?? and on the surface, outputs, these channels are used for my monitor auxes (if I remember correctly)

(I’d insert a pic here, but the insert image button doesn’t go to an upload…and I don’t do code)

Does Anyone use MMO for recording?? Dante’s not in our budget right now.

Want to connect and find out your experiences.

Meantime, will research our Serial# and follow up with the possible bad batches. Thanks for that, @gilparente

So tell me please. How do I wipe out any unwanted channels? Not just from the surface, but altogether. From the monitor mixes, inputs, etc.

    Thanks!

OK. This is cool. I can see my scene now.

Looking in the I/P window, I see that all of my channels are chronologically lined up – not at all how it looks on my surface.

And I see all the channels that are NOT currently on the surface. These channels are no longer used – instruments and/or vox inputs. And a DCA drum group that is no longer necessary.

How do I completely delete or zero out unused channels and all associated patches?

Is there a way to click and drag channels into different positions (to group the vocals that are currently not together)? Or insert a new channel into the I/P layout somehow? I want to add a new vox and acoustic guitar. Do they have to be added at the end of the inputs?

I think I understand that the channel NUMBER does not mean it has to be laid out this way on the surface. Do I use the surface tab to do that? And is that clickable/drag-able?

So the M-DANTE allows for direct patching into a laptop? No additional interfaces? (I understand there is an interface already in the IDR?)

So Editor is the way to go. Thanks much for all the replies! I’ve looked around for Editor videos/training – can anyone point me to a resource that will help me on my way with the software?

    Happy Thanksgiving from America!

“On November 20, we’ll offer an interactive webinar on V1.9.”

Will this webinar be recorded for later review? Thanks! Standing by now in the classroom…

Yep, MacBook Pro. But my proficiency with that is even more lacking than the surface.

I’ll give that some attention as well… Thanks

I don’t know how to block quote on this forum…

“With regards to organising channels I am assuming the slots on the racks are out of whack in which case just alter the slots on each preamp. If this is not the case then copy and paste the information to where you want it.”

Fingers crossed I articulate this clearly:

When a scene is originally built, bank 1, fader 1 is Channel 1. Bank 2, fader 1 is Channel 13 (on my desk – the T80)

When inputs are deleted, instruments are changed, artists are removed, the “faders” are rearranged, but the channel numbers stick. This is because **I** am more comfortable assigning faders in the surface screen vs. copying/pasting info into a new fader. Ya, I gotta master that.

So now, let’s say my bank 1, fader 5 is channel 14 – which, logically, it should be channel 5 (OCD here, hang with me HAHA!) Your solution would be to copy/paste that channel into an unused channel buried down in bank 4 somewhere – which would change the channel number and THEN copy/paste it back into it’s desired position – finally correcting the channel number issue?

….and do I even need to worry about the channel numbers? Maybe I’m getting all spun up for no reason.

And yes, we want to build to 1 show per artist and 1 scene for each song. Thanks for that confirmation in my thinking….

Many thanks for the double-patching solution. Will give it a go tonight!

    Peace! Always!
