That is how I have been doing it. Just cumbersome. It should be a simple matter like assigning the signal generator to a mix.
2015/03/04 at 2:22 pm #45786AnonymousInactiveLooking at the system block diagram the fader is post everything (except pan) so the Main EQ would have to be applied to everything unless the fader could be used as a DCA against the outputs configured as such (would also oblige you to run at ~unity on the main fader by default)
2015/03/04 at 2:30 pm #45787GCumbeeParticipantHeck. I would be ok with this assigned output idea not even following the LR main fader but if it could be done as a VCA that would be ok too. In a church situation that would be preferable.
2015/03/04 at 3:07 pm #45788AnonymousInactiveIn a church situation I think it’s imperative – unless of course you lock the main fader
2015/03/05 at 1:09 am #45798funkcityParticipantYes GC You hit it on the head!
2015/03/05 at 1:30 am #45799funkcityParticipantHere is what I did today.
1 calibrated all mics and pres so that once balanced balanced I could start with all input faders at -5dB.
I did this for MixLR out and Mix7&8 out.
2. I then set a DCA on the iPad Qu-Pad. I named as “MASTER” and assigned it to Mix LR and Mix 7&8.
(This is NOT PERFECT but it works so far. But I think internal routing needs to be more in depth.
Note: If you think old school, you would just assign the same signal to more busses! Ha! 🙂
3. Rung out the feedback points at both house locations. Parametric and Graphic are way cool here.
4. Set the delay for most natural and intelligible spoken word.I would love to have a built-in Dugan automixer in this board as I have in the 3 Yamahas I use at work!
And…BTW, for the Yamaha upright piano I installed Helpinstill piano pickups…no feedback, no crosstalk from other nearby instruments, even sound. Out of production for years he again is selling direct-only from Texas. http://www.helpinstill.com Just add a little Qu EQ and it’s very cool!
2015/03/05 at 7:20 am #45800HawkParticipantI have an idea!
You can actually use the PAFL bus as a delay mix. You can delay and trim PAFL in the audio setup panel. You can also patch the Alt-Out or dSnake as PAFL and get the output from there. Just make sure you don’t press any PAFL key…
2015/03/05 at 10:32 am #45801AnonymousInactiveAnd you lose the ability to PAFL…
2015/03/06 at 8:40 pm #45813AnonymousInactiveDoes Funk city use an AR stage box?
If so I think I know a different or “similar way using main (FOH XLR ) outputs to feed ST1/2/3 in and send them to one of the stereo outputs.
Of course you would need to remove any direct to the outputs.
So you still get you PFL which is vital!PS: I have never used the ‘tape outputs’ maybe that might work?
Otherwise a new TAB page like GC suggested is one answer.2015/03/08 at 7:50 am #45831funkcityParticipantNo AR Stage box
ALT Routing
The idea was this:
Assign the ALT output to be LR Prefade
Patch ALT to Stereo input 2
Raise Stereo 2 fader in mix 3
Raise Stereo 2 fader in mix 4
(This MIGHT be a mono stereo lockout on AH Qu-16?)
But it works if I patch from 2T out instead of ALT out (albeit post-fader….grrr!)
The block diagram does NOT show a LR Prefade point ONLY a L&R pre/post in the User Guide.
Maybe I just answered my own question????
Maybe there is no LR pre?? as is selectable from the ALT routing menu??
I had to leave the church as the alarm was ready to sound!XVGSXGVVXVC%C$C!2015/03/08 at 9:17 am #45833funkcityParticipantALT OUT VOLUME KNOB! Ha. Well?… I knew that…not
The original plan should work but NOBODY can touch that knob
or back of the church, the vestibule and the outside speaker will be altered!
Whew! what a path!2015/03/08 at 9:26 am #45834AnonymousInactiveah, yes. Probably a removable knob – or stick a small box over it?
This is why I prefer the external processor…
2015/03/08 at 7:36 pm #45842AnonymousInactivewhat about “Y” splitting (balanced XLR to TRS) the main outputs of FOH and feed those back into ST2 ?
Assign the ST2 to what ever Outputs you want ‘EXCEPT’ FOH of course?2015/03/09 at 5:59 pm #45851SteffenRParticipantMatrix, Matrix, Matrix
I want Matrix on QU16…just one…
or the possibility to add the stereo mix to the mixes 5/6 to 9/10 as external bus input (as on iLive)2015/03/09 at 6:43 pm #45853funkcityParticipantactually 2 track out is exactly that.
I am currently using ALT from LR Pre (I may switch to LR Post)
But best would be an internal routing capability. -
