That by itself will not work. AES is a digital LR signal. Will not work directly into an analog input. You would need some sort of D/A conversion.

Litti. HPF on mix outs is not on GLD or QU. I know not on QU. I dont think on GLD. So what are you gaining? That said GLD and QU are still great consoles. I have an 80 and a 16.

I’m sorry for saying this and know you have battled this for a long time but how did you/we get by without this before? Even in analog days did you SCC? Maybe you’re just onto a level I haven’t ever seen others do.
Not saying there’s anything wrong with that just saying it’s not the first thing I would think of. Probably you’re just a lot…[Read more]

I am a bit perplexed by this also. Why can’t these things be more fast tracked? Especially with their security omission. I already have sales pending that were expecting that one feature which should have been a priority.

This is something that should have been in the launch. Not a year later.

The big thing with ganging would be levels being not same. In other words say 4 fader could be different level but ganged together. Like we used to do on Pro Tools surfaces. Obviously a DCA or group can do this but different from ganging.

I’ve worked video on shows where I’m directing and I’ve got some guy telling me where my cameras should be or other stuff and I ask him has he ever directed TV before. He says No. I say ‘well let me decide what I need or want’

Me too. I wonder if the design guys have ever been real sound engineers.

FWIW. My rep assures me it’s not nearing EOL. AH claims there are many out on bids to keep it going. I was at a church yesterday that launched their new SQ6 I sold them. Lots of things I like about it but a lot I don’t. I still think GLD is a much better console.

John. Is there anything significant enough in this update to worry about not doing it?

That’s about what mine has done since very early days when I first got it. I thought it was less with DHCP off but haven’t used it in awhile. I usually just turn it on and go off and do something else.

GCumbee replied to the topic Qu24 & AR2412 Sound distortions in the forum Qu troubleshooting 1 week, 2 days ago

The 2412 inputs will be hard left and right which is fine for things like piano, overheads, stereo guitar etc. adjust pads and gain so as not to distort the preamp. Adjust level on keyboard if needed to accomplish that.

I would use a DI for the piano 2 for stereo. 21&22 for stereo which is ST 2 on console.

    Yann.

When I teach digital consoles the very first thing I emphasis is always knowing where you are. What you’re looking at. The blue leds on the right side are your road map. Always make sure you’re on LR if not adjusting another mix. If a mix is hit again it will cycle back to LR. If someone can not grasp that concept in short order they have…[Read more]

GCumbee replied to the topic Mic/Line inputs and DI box newbie question in the forum SQ general discussions 1 week, 6 days ago

Seems like we keep going in circles on this. Factors here are 1 level which AH has addressed along with us. Most synths are between mic and line level. That is not -50 or +4 but usually around -20 to -10 So could be considered either way. I have owned at least one with XLR +4 and 1/4″ TS -20. But most don’t have XLR.

So we’re talking about level…[Read more]
