+1 – there needs to be a way to do this.

Figured out what I was doing wrong – I kept expecting the selected Chanel lights to light up when I held the Assign button. It took me a while to notice the “ON” indication on the scribble strip.

This was also more difficult than it could have been, since the LR and M outputs do not appear on the routing tab of the input channels, though everything else does – groups, auxes, etc. It would be great if this could be added here.

    Thanks for the help.

Thanks Carey. I figured I was missing something. I’ll give that a try tonight.

For me it’s more practical; create a 6 mic’s stereo group and called “choir” and then put reverb on it (not on the single channels).
I know I can insert the efx on the group, but why do I spend another efx, if my “vocal verb” is already present on the board?

    thanks in advance, regards.

Aux sends are effects sends, no? For example, I patch Aux 10 to the input of effects processor 1. To send channels to this effects processor, I send to Aux 10. I’m still waiting for my GLD, but this is how it works on every other mixer I’ve used.

Ehm.. my GLD-80 responds to a PING command, but how do I acces the console? Web-browser as there is no software at the moment?
    Firefox just gave error.

There is no software yet, either external or web-based. You can roll your own software using the TCP/IP information that Antony linked. Unless you’re a programmer though, this isn’t going to be what you want, as no one has written any remote control software for the GLD yet.

DCAs are different than groups they affect not only the fader level, but anything that is post fader as well, such as post fade auxes.

For your second to last point – this is probably what you’re seeing. Your auxes are set to post fader mode, which means changes in the main level affect them. This is desirable for things like effects. For use as monitors, set them to pre fader.

As far as I know, you can assign the effects return to a fader.

It would be really great if this could be changed in the future. 24-bit recording is very useful.

    Thanks

24 bit resolution as well? That would be wonderful.
