I like the way Soundcraft’s Ui24 interface works. No app needed, HTML5 and works well across all platforms. All that is needed is a web browser. I would like to see something like this come to dLive. Perhaps something that is a piece of add-on hardware that plugs into the network.

Finding a new GLD-112 is hard anymore too so it could be at EOL. Several outlets have the GLD-80 at clearance pricing as well.

I really hope that A&H comes up with something between SQ and dLive C-Class. As noted above, the SQ doesn’t quite have the features needed, and there’s a large gap between the two current platforms.

You can run subs with their own master on the console, or you can run a summed L+R out, or you can run a simple stereo L/R setup similar to many analog consoles. What did you replace with the GLD-80, are you plugging into an existing system? You may want to keep it similar to the original setup initially until you get used to the GLD-80 and explore other options.

Personally for me I like the separate MONO + L + R, because it allows you to route only signals to the sub that you want like an Aux fed sub setup. You can then use a DCA to control your L/R & sub levels on a single fader. The GLD is very flexible and allows for many setup options.

It’s fully supported, and I believe that happened with firmware 1.5 when the Chrome edition was first released.

2 things that need to be done. Dante controller mappings, and then mapping the GLD’s Dante inputs to channels on the console. If you have this done, then I am not sure what to tell you. Do you have a 3rd Dante device that you can add to the mix to test with?

I Would love to see a Qu-8. It would replace my Zed for really small stuff. I would need an AR84 to go with it, and would buy both in a second.

In my opinion, it is always a good idea to run a UPS on any digital mixer. Not only does it protect you from power outages, but a good UPS can also filter out power anomalies which can sometimes lock up or cause unwanted side effects with some digital consoles.

Add the DCA faders to the custom layer. They are a choice when you are configuring that layer.

I’m hoping for a new GLD2 platform or maybe some kind of main processor board update for the existing units. I hope that A&H isn’t abandoning the mid-end market.

I also own a couple of Qu mixers, but they are limited compared to the GLDs. I use the 112 for rock festivals a lot, and the 80 for bluegrass festivals and other stuff. A dLive would be an option other than the physical size of the unit compared to the GLD. If I increase physical console size at this point, I have to upgrade to a larger box truck along with it or not carry as much backup gear. This adds great cost across the board. The physical size of the GLD consoles along with their feature sets makes them great for my use.

A mono aux would be the best method. You can more easily individually control not only that, but other levels to your room mix. If your room feed is to be direct from the aux, and is stereo, then use a stereo aux.

I have the Qu-Pac (the SB was not available when I purchased) and it does steal a lot of gigs from the Qu-16. Especially in places where FOH space is limited. Personally I still prefer mixing on a console over an iPad though.

I would like to see something as well. I have been holding off on new purchases in hopes of some kind of announcement. Qu is too limited, and dLive is too physically big for my current needs. GLD is just right, but I am getting the feeling that it is reaching or has reached EOL. A board upgrade, or even a new and improved GLD2 would be great to see.

John, you can use the Dave Rat method with compression on subgroups to achieve what you want. He has a video posted on YouTube describing the setup if you are not familiar with it.

I’m hoping it was a power glitch

Do you run a UPS (battery backup) on your Qu-Pac? I make it a habit to run one on any digital mixing console that I use, and I have had far fewer problems with them, than without.
