There is no advantage to using the XLR inputs over the TRS inputs. They both feed the same preamp circuit after the usual pads/Z optimisation. TRS is better for line level output like your keyboards. Plus no decoupling cap for the phantom power on the line level side so there should be an even more impressive THD spec.
2019/07/11 at 8:06 am #85106Hi volunteer,
Is it not an option to simply set the compression threshold trigger level really low, set a ratio of maybe 10:1 (or whatever works) so all input is compressed. Then use the makeup gain to normalise the volume.
Gate out anything below human voice.
Just my two pence
2019/06/27 at 7:24 am #84872The stereo line inputs are physically normalled but the stereo outs are not.
If mono output is desired then the I/O patch screen will allow L+R to be set in software.
2019/04/03 at 5:19 pm #831392. Can I patch my piano L+R into stereo pair 17/18 and thus free up 2 mono inputs in the 1-16 range?
Both inputs 17 (St1) and 18 (St2) are stereo so you only need one or the other for your piano L+R
2019/03/07 at 9:05 am #82451I had no answer to the original question. So I didn’t offer a reply. I didn’t realise this was unusual behaviour here.
Not wanting to start a war but I’ve been saddened by some of the responses to some legitimate questions lately. Surely a community forum’s aim is to help those of lesser experience. Maybe those with dyslexia who find it difficult to read a manual, or simply missinterpret terms and end up even more confused.
2019/03/06 at 11:23 pm #82440“I think you want the Behringer forum. You keep referencing an X32.”
“Do you realize that this forum is for Allen & Heath Qu mixers and not Behringer X32 mixers?”
Do you two realise he’s asking about a QU SB?
Read the original post properly FFS!
What a disgraceful set of replies from everybody.
2018/12/08 at 10:41 am #80670Much can be done w/ softkeys and f/w and what wasn’t possible before is more than likely possible today… it’s likely all on a chip by now but that requires h/w so I bet it could be added to a USB stick as an upsell from AH (yes more sales! ..and there’s very good throughput on this port to handle it).
Have you emailed A&H themselves to get the ‘official’ response? All Qu updates are minimal these days as new products come out that perhaps have this functionality. Does the SQ series have that feature?
I only use my Qu16 for live sound so I’m not really savvy on the recording capabilities. However, in the future i might delve into that world.
2018/05/19 at 7:12 pm #71127Looking at the System Block Diagram it looks to me like the ‘Pre’ and ‘Post’ fader assignments (per mix) are with respect to the fader in the FX Returns section, not the LR.
2018/05/17 at 7:23 am #71072Do the FX Return faders not set the levels of reverb in LR and each mix individually (When post fader is selected)?
2018/02/08 at 4:53 pm #68758Thanks for the confirmation David. Love this app.
2018/02/08 at 11:59 am #68750My tablet is prompting me to update this. Are we out of the beta stage now?
2018/01/16 at 1:39 pm #68282It’s a third octave spec so the bell will extend to 26Hz.
2018/01/04 at 11:59 am #67921Thanks David. Definitely looking forward to that.
2017/12/02 at 12:56 pm #66643I would expect it would.
Easy to test and confirm. Try it.
