+1 for all of this. I hear this from many touring guest engineers.

We’re having this issue with the main encoder as well as some knobs on either side of the screen. I’m currently discussing this with Sweetwater but so far I’ve gotten no traction on having it repaired without having to pay for obviously faulty parts.
I (L O V E) this console as does every touring engineer who uses it at our venue. We’re planning to get another SQ7 for monitors as well as a GX4816 and a DX012 but if the responsibility for the cost of this issue is going fall on us, it will make further Allen&Heath purchases a VERY uphill battle.
(PLEASE consider covering these repairs under the auspices of some sort of limited recall)

This happens on ours as well. I’ve found if I go to a value higher than what I want then adjust DOWN to my desired value (stopping exactly as soon as my desired value is reached) it stays put. It’s the only way I can use the opto. Very disapointing.

This repair needs to be covered under a recall. It appears to be a common problem and after the pandemic shutdown many warranties have run out after very little actual use. Mine included.
What say the Allen Heath deciders??

Couldn’t the console sense the use of any and all phase changing options and align the outputs of EVERYTHING to preserve all phase throughout? (With the possible exception of individual time alignment choices)

While using the soft rotaries as aux sends for monitors, it would be handy to be able to press the corresponding button and ad able to move that rotary to another range of aux sends. We have an SQ7 and would like to be able to send all 12 auxiliaries to monitors via the rotaries. This would be even more handy on an SQ6 since there are only 4 rotaries. Each button press could move through three ranges of auxiliary sends. When we have a channel selected its faster and less work on the fader motors to send the signal to a stage full of performers waiting for that one signal rather than flipping through each (sends on faders) mix.

It is an sq7 and a dx168, and yes 42 would the limit. Too bad I can’t turn the stereo 2 and 3 inputs into actual channels.

I’ve been told if an ssd drive fails the information is lost, but a spinning platter can be recovered. I do have an external ssd
I guess I’ll try it as is and see what happens.
    THANKS!
