I haven’t seen anything. GLD spec seems to cover it though yeah? I’ve had really good luck just sniffing input messages from the desk in Osculator, but you could do that with any midi monitoring software.

Just curious: what purpose does 96k serve you that 48k does not? Quite a difference in disk space used for that many channels of sustained recording. …and the differences in audible quality are really negligible. The only reason I would (personally) want to run Dante @ 96k is a *slight* reduction in latency. (For the record, I’m totally with you on wanting a higher channel count without having to multicast, but I’d still probably want to downsample for the multitrack.)

I should add: We’re still on Firmware 1.4, I’ve been waiting on updating to 1.5 until the community-reported scene manager bugs have been worked out.

+1! Very useful to have this option.

Are you running A&H TCP midi driver/connected to the console? …if so, in multirack: is A&H TCP midi selected as a midi device? You’ll need those two things set up in order to get midi to transmit in betwixt the two.

No worries. Thanks for the update! Is it being addressed in 1.5ish? (I still haven’t updated bc of multiple reports of slowness.)

    Bueller… Bueller???

    Nice!

I hadn’t thought about using it for talkback in that way.

I finally got my touchOSC template going that has scene recall + 8 faders and controls for lights/media all on one page. (With full back-mapping so you can see where you’re currently at in lighting/media cues.) Took me a minute to parse out the midi messages in Osculator for the dLive, but it seems to be working fairly well.

One odd thing I’ve run in to: If I do a scene recall my faders Don’t jump to position in Touch OSC, but they DO move any time I move a fader on the desk or in director, or on an ipad etc. So the console is reporting the movement. Stranger still, they started working properly on scene recall for a few minutes, then stopped again. Have to dig a bit deeper into that one.

Yeah, nice to not have to tour w/ lappy. I don’t think there are any physical midi ports on this thing though, so one way or another you have to go through TCP midi via a machine of some sort, no?

    Jay!

Thanks man. I’ll give that a go!!

If you’re just bridging a hardware device I would honestly just spend $20 on Osculator. It does all the message sniffing you’ll need for any number of complex command-things, and allows you to create custom midi messaging specifically to interpolate program changes—>Dlive sysEx Hex values.

I was actually doing this very thing today with my RockTron MidiMate. Happy to send you my template once it’s done.

Yeah, that’s the issue. I don’t want to have to unplug the thing and bring in a crap router. 100’s of devices on the existing network and I don’t have admin rights. Was hoping for an easier/lazier solution. 🙂

I’ve got 1001 ways to get sound into this desk that don’t involve using the usb stick as an mp3 playback device. In fact, I have a mac Mini acting as DSP server over Dante sitting at FOH, that is *also* running VIA, so adding an iTunes playback channel there is no issue. …but we also have terribly unskilled users that sometimes have to run things. I can think of like, five situations where that usb support would just save erryone a headache or two. Just saying. 🙂

UPDATE! It is *definitely* an issue with dLive Director. I tried connecting both to the Mixrack alone, and to “Surface and Mixrack,” both gave the same result: NO crossfade, even though crossfade was stated to be at a long interval. I tried recalling THOSE SAME SCENES I had edited in director FROM the c2500 surface and voila: crossfades for every scene. …So software bug? Or am I missing something?
