quote: “If we use a GEQ on the FOH PA (using MainLR), and record the MainLR to USB, then that affects the recording.
Recording from a matrix doesn’t help because the MainLR GEQ affects all the matrices.”
that doesn’t sound like like you are feeding the PA with a matrix in this case.well, it boils down to the “you get what you pay for thing”.
the real solution is a system with more matrices. the GEQ on the mainbus is not a wasted resource, it’s there to adjust the tonal balance of the whole bus if needed, as is the geq on the mains-matrix to adjust the pa.
you can certainly wish for variable “pickpoints”, but a wish for more matrices, as stated very often around here, is the proper solution to your problem of one geq affecting different outputs the bus gets sent to.
in the end, another additional (pre-geq) “pickpoint” would be just another bus. as is a matrix.2024/03/28 at 4:34 pm #120871why?
2024/03/28 at 4:31 pm #120869any news on this?
2024/03/28 at 4:23 pm #120868Hi Trev,
as much as you might be experienced, you are using it wrong.
your LR Main Bus should go to the matrices, one for recording, the other to the Main PA or wherever you want it. You’ll use the GEQ where you need it. That’s what matrices are for. If you got to few, you’ll need a separate systemcontroller and/or a different desk.
you are welcome, good luck.2024/03/28 at 4:11 pm #120867that’s a thread from 2022.
thank you for using the search function.
but yes, it would be nice to see.2023/10/30 at 7:27 pm #116139live sound is my profession, and anticipating/identifying/avoiding such things is part of it.

the softkeys could be so powerful, but i just have a lot of them with no proper functions to assign.
2023/10/30 at 7:18 pm #116137+1, once again, haha

as said very often around here.
what reason is there for this restriction?2023/09/06 at 11:08 am #114600+1
it would actually be awesome to have the option of saving a certain page/view to a softkey, yamaha-style (“save page”, if i recall correctly). so far, i have a ton of softkeys on the SQ6 but 2 thirds of them aren’t of much use, since there aren’t really much extra functions i _need_ special keys for available.
i might start an own thread on this.

i’ll take what i can get. 6x mono would also be awesome.
(that being said, it’s nice to see that suddenly some features seem possible. i always thought the stereo/mono limitation on buses (and their count) is also a part of a businessmodel. if you need more, go for the dLive. it’s that simple.)2023/02/04 at 1:33 pm #111305because they never do anything else than eq, as does the gain, comp, gate or HPF pot. having knobs with multiple functions or a fixed ones is often part of the whole desk concept (yamaha <=> soundcraft ).
2023/02/04 at 1:25 pm #111303+1 (also again)
2022/12/25 at 8:23 pm #110586i don’t have the desk at me right now as well, but as far as i can remember, i can only recall safe the levels sent to the fx and their returns, not the settings of the FX themsekves. i’ll check in a couple of days when i’m home again, but i’m pretty sure i tried that way.
thx for the answer anyway 😉 -
