I myself am running my surface-less rig with one CAT cable from stage to FoH, although I have switches on both ends to compliment all the devices that have to be connected. No VLANs used, just to have more ports available. I am using 2 network ports on my FoH computer to differentiate control network and Dante.
That way I can use Director plus multitrack recording on one NUC FoH computer, plus having the possibility to have phones, talkback and additional I/Os at FoH using Dante. This setup is working for more then 6 years without any hiccup. Might be dependent on the required channel count for Dante (bandwidth?) which won’t exceed 48 here…
2024/02/06 at 10:03 am #119181Director is running on a Win10 machine and touchscreen here for 6 years now without any problems. From version 1.8x to 1.99
2024/01/31 at 11:04 am #118971This button is programmable like all the others on a IP8. What you want to achieve is doable using two scenes, that change the layout of the IP8. If you, by “momentary”, mean a unlatched function, then no, this is not possible. Although this would be a cool feature, like many others on the crippled down functionality of IP controllers.
2024/01/22 at 10:26 am #118659I am always sending my mains to MTXs the way you described first. And never had any differences in volume between left and right.
So the problem is probably somewhere else.
Is the mains balance in the center? The pickpoint for “Ext in” is before the insert (see manual!), so this could be the reason.2024/01/18 at 10:31 am #118539This is described in the manual under 1.2 on page 9…..
2024/01/15 at 9:18 am #118436Strange surface behavior and lockups in the A&H world often derive from bad or wrong setup control networks. At least this is my experience.
So this would be my first shot…2024/01/13 at 9:16 am #118372Thx Jack for the clarification.
2024/01/12 at 10:59 am #118349It is just sad, that no additional information is being given regarding this incident, even after more then 2 weeks.
We need to no, if it is save to keep production systems at 1.99 with no obvious symptoms, or if it is recommended to revert to 1.98. Or if reverting to an older version is not recommended at all.A&H, come on!
2023/12/20 at 6:51 pm #117665The in-house knowledge would be there with the acquisition of SlateDigital
2023/12/14 at 10:43 am #117475Right click on the encoder in the channel view of Director…
2023/12/14 at 12:48 am #117465This would be so much better then the workaround I am using for 6 years now. So a definite +1
2023/12/05 at 12:33 pm #117228But the difference between Peak and RMS metering is not only in timing settings, no?
2023/11/28 at 11:10 pm #117057In my eyes 1.98 and the Ventura/Sonoma compatibility should be seen as a “hotfix”, so A&H gains time in development of something bigger. In return, it might be they are probably not even close yet. Prove me wrong 🤪
2023/11/21 at 12:12 am #116780Keep in mind, that dLive is using peak levels for metering only. This could make it pretty hard, depending on the incoming material, to set line level on the preamp side. Hence I was requesting the possibility to switch to RMS metering, at least at the preamp stage, 1,5 years ago.
2023/11/15 at 6:30 pm #116587Version 1.9.8 should have brought compatibility with Ventura. (Haven’t tested it myself yet)
@matthiasHAU, writing on topics like this should always contain what OS you are using. Otherwise it might just be seen as a rant…. -
