Thanks Keith… Unfortunately, I can have my cake and eat it too. Maybe, I’ll try some different daws and see what happens this weekend. When I use the ASIO QU-16, Tracktion doesn’t give me that option for an analog output. Thanks for chiming in though. If I do get something worked out, I put it in this thread.

I think your screenshot was over 1 megabyte so it didn’t show up, but I’d just suggest starting having your Focusrite inputs set at 0 gain, then slowly work up your QU-16 levels to where they need to be. If you need to get add some gain on the Focusrite, you’ll have plenty of head room. I’m assuming you’ve got some sort of metering to look at on your Focusrite correct? Get it up there but make sure it is not getting toward the reds.

I’ve been mulling that idea around as well. I’ve got two Presonus 1824c units collecting dust in my rack since I got the QU-16. The QU-16 is not the audio interface I thought it would be. It’s fine as a mixer, but it’s too complex for my needs at home (mostly synths). I used to use channel inserts as individual out from my Mackie ProFX16v3 feeding the 1824c units that were chained together, and then also used some sub groups, but it still didn’t quite get me to 16 individual outs.. Close, but no kielbasa. I don’t know how to do what your asking but hopefully someone will chime in.

Yeah.. The last one for QU was 4 months ago though. Just subscribe to them on YouTube and turn on notifications.

That’s a great topic for the Next A&H Livestream. I bet there’s a way to do it.

There’s great stuff on YouTube already for free. And I found it worthwhile to purchase the paid course by Pro Audio Exp here – https://proaudioexp.com/products/allen-and-heath-qu-series-video-tutorial-qu-16-qu-24-qu-32-qu-sb-qu-pac

He’s not doing much more than going through the most basic and important parts of the manual that you can read yourself. However, for me at least, I find it easier to learn by watching a demonstration of someone else doing what’s already in the manual. I had zero experience in digital mixing before I purchased the QU-16, so this course was valuable to me. Other more experienced users wouldn’t give it a second look.

Good luck in your learning. I’m sure you’ll do fine. I’ve had my QU for almost a year now, and have a pretty good grasp on it now. I have found out though, that it’s overkill (too powerful) for what I need in my home studio. I’m sure you’ll utilize the board to its fullest potential in a Church venue. It should be great for you.

I purchased the Creation Station computer from Sweetwater. I don’t know why it works, but it does.

My QU-16 runs fine with Windows 11. Basically the same mixer.

I’ve had mine for a few months and haven’t had the USB streaming issue either. I hope I didn’t just invite the “f#&k fairy”.

I can’t find the dimensions, but one rack unit = 1.75 inches tall. So, if your gear isn’t taller than 14 inches high when stacked on top of each other, they will fit fine.

Thanks Rafael.. I hooked it up last night after I finally got the stripped screws out of my rack… I did get the crackling sound at first, so I simply tried a different USB port, and the crackling is gone… Looks like I’m good to go!

My QU-16 arrived today. I haven’t taken it out of the box yet because my Mackie is stuck in my rack with 2 stripped screws… Anyway, I have a Creation Station Windows computer from Sweetwater, and it has both 2.0 and 3.0 USB onboard. I’m surmising that as long as I use the USB 2.0 port, I shouldn’t have this issue right? Or am I missing something?
