The easy way is to setup 2 channels with the same input. Then you have two independent channelstrips for each vocalist. Just turn the right one up 🙂
So patch the channel next to your current channel to the same input socket, and you are done. Only shared thing is the gain.
Good luck.
2015/05/06 at 7:22 pm #47789Well my palm wrest is still ok, I have mine about 2 1/2 years and it is out for about 100 shows a year. My problem is that the white scale painting at the faders is fading away, especially on the right faderbank. (Gld80)
When i got the gld it had a non functining USB port. So opened the hood and reconnected the USB again. Cable was loose. It is pretty neat inside. You will find a dsp board, PC board, and lots of flatcable interconnections.
If there is a leather(ish) replacement for the wrist I would buy it.
2015/04/26 at 11:02 am #47474Yes I am using it.
Settings : MONO ! (helps a lot to get more focus)
Delay about 3,5 ms
Pitch : +14 and -14
No pitch modulation (off)And don’t make it too loud in the mix 🙂
2014/09/22 at 11:29 am #41788Hi,
Last weekend I had a crash. While copying High Pass filters to all channels the surface stopped responding. Normally it comes back to life after about 1 minute. This time it didn’t had to switch off-on during the show (which is not funny at all).
Using 1.41

Pascal2014/09/22 at 11:27 am #41787I used GLD remote with IOS 8 last weekend. no problems at all.

Pascal2013/12/27 at 7:45 pm #37006I have the same with one of my bands. I created two stereo groups (one for band, one for vocals) and took all channels off the main mix and assigned them to group Band or group Vocal.
When i dont want the band to be on foh, I mute both stereo groups.
2013/10/13 at 11:20 pm #35159No it is not due to different hardware.
Since 21th of juni there is a new owner:
https://www.allen-heath.com/UK/News/Pages/NewsDetail.aspx?NewsId=682If you bought your GLD before this date you will have a licence for MP3 otherwise, you don’t
If it was for repair and puchased before 21-6-2013 and MP3 playout is gone, please contact your local distrubutor or A&H directly. I am sure they will solve it for you, but you have to bring your console back in for a SSD exchange.

Eh… In Broadcast situations we always stay below -9 dBfs. (-9 dBfs = Unity sensitivity)
That goes for all gigs I have done in The Netherlands []regards,

2013/09/06 at 9:56 am #34752Hi,
Just change your output configuration. I guess that your configuration is:
Main (L-R) bus to FOH
Matrix1 bus to USB recorder.Change it to:
Main (L-R) bus to USB recorder ; and put it to unity (= 0 dB)
Matrix1 bus to FOH. This is your main volume control now.Don’t forget to set L-R mix to unity in the matrix1 bus and you have to reconfigure your Main L-R outputs to Matrix1 L-R out on your stage frame.
This give you also the advantage that you don’t use the Main L-R PEQ/GEQ. So the recording on USB is without EQ adjustments for the room / PA system. Do your room/PA eq adjustments in the Matrix bus. (Same for other things like compressor ; delay ; …)
good luck.

2013/08/06 at 8:22 am #34572Hi!
1. There is no predefinded (eq / compressor) library available for the GLD. You can make it yourself and build your own..
2. Klotz hybrid is a good cable. Will work like a charm

2013/06/22 at 10:17 am #34284Well. I don’t understand it. You should go to 1.20. There are a lot of fixes and improvements.
The bugI posted is fatal for you GLD and you have to reboot in factory settings. True. That is why I posted it. As long as you don’t use Ext In option in a bus you are fine (I think only a few users know and use this option)
I am running 1.20 too

2013/06/16 at 12:28 pm #34247Ok… Some investigation done during a sunny quitly sunday morning.
For the experienced users, Please try the following in V1.20.
BEFORE YOU START, BACKUP ALL YOUR SHOWS TO USB
1. Start GLD.
2. Recall template1 LR and press OK
3. Go to bank 2 layer D
4. Select stereo group 1
5. Press processing and to to tab Ext In
6. Assign USB to the Source select and press Apply (or Sig gen, or I/O port in 1/2)From this stage you will see and warning sign at the right bottom of the screen. The log file fills up with:
Can’t find=digital attenuator, stereo group channel 01 (../../AHnet/core/sysbuild.cpp:374)
Msourcepath=digital attenuator, stereo group channel 01, mdestinatinpath=surface strip, FX send mono channel 01 (..from now on, the system is un-usable. You have to reboot the system and restore to default settings.
could several people test this ? Than I am sure it is not a specific hardware problem in my console

2013/05/22 at 3:02 pm #34021I am using V1.12
During the show I was recording 2track. This USB stick is never unplugged.
