    @eotsskleet
I have an iLive that I have used before, but I am talking about the GLD. We just bought a GLD for our church and for the life of me I can’t seem to figure out how to make a stereo input channel. Spent like 20 minutes just looking for it. After reading some posts like this one, I thought it wasn’t an option.

If you can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. We have a few video, cd and computer inputs that I would love to have as true stereo channels and not ganged.

Wow I was surprised and a bit disappointed when I found out I couldn’t make more stereo channels. I only see two on the board at them moment, and I want to use 3 of them. Eventually I want to change our keyboards to stereo and add some more. I am able to do this on my iLIve, but then again this isn’t an iLive. Seems like a pretty basic feature, never though this would be an issue.

+1 for being able to make stereo channels. I prefer stereo channels to ganging, less faders taken up, all the controls work together.

I too would love to see a “remote control” functionality for the ME-1 and being able to monitor the mix of a ME-1 remotely. Either from a computer, console, or having a “monitor engineer” ME-1 that can mirror other ME-1s. It would make the job of helping musicians with their mixes a lot easier.

I’m guessing it runs on some sort of low level network broadcast protocol, so seems like there could be some way to implement some bi-directional communication on top of that. But hey, if it’s impossible then I guess that’s just too bad, just saying it would be an awesome feature. Seems like it could make the product a bit more competitive in the ever growing market of personal mixing systems.

Just sharing my update story for what it’s worth:

I tried updating to 1.9 via a wired network connection using the editor running on OSX SnowLeopard and I had the “Update Failed” message. It left my surface in a “waiting for files to be downloaded” state and I was a little freaked out and wasn’t sure what to do at that point.

Eventually I just rebooted the surface and mix rack and everything came back up alright in the older firmware, so I guess it didn’t really get to updating.

I was able to update from the surface USB port using a flash drive. Success!

    1. Scene management in the ipad app.
    2. Iphone app for monitor mixes, so musicians can tweak their own mix. (See https://iliveforum.allen-heath.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1883)
    3. Fader to 0 in editor software (just double click on fader?)
    4. Strip meters on DCAs would be nice.
    5. Multiband Comp & Dynamic EQ

In my scenario, I use different scenes for each song. It would be insanely helpful if I could change scenes on the Mixpad app, so I don’t have to keep running back to the mix position when the band goes on to the next song.

Totally! I had hoped that the tweak app would do this sort of thing, but I was sad to find out that it didn’t.

Please implement this on the iphone/ipod interface. They are cheaper and more prevalent than iPads. The musicians don’t need a huge screen, just enough to tweak their mix or turn themselves up.

API or control protocol documentation would be great. I would love to write my own app for this.

BTW I don’t think an API is a full code release, its just an interface for other programs to interact with. So in this case, we are talking about control protocol, which should not allow you to execute code on the device, just provide an interface to programmatically change settings, call snapshots, etc.

I would love to see an app that mainly focuses on Aux mixes for personal monitoring. An ipod touch is cheaper than an Aviom mixer, it would be wiereless control, and extra cabling to send audio from an on stage mixer to a wireless IEM or amp is not needed. This would also allow musicians to mix themselves, and the engineer can help/tweak their mixes if needed.

As this evolves, you could add administrative controls to the engineer, so he can assign mixes to people or restrict mixes from being changed from the app.

I could see this being an excellent value for churches or bands that have a low budget and can’t afford a monitor engineer.
