You could just route a prefade Aux mix to Main L/R
Not on an SQ, you can’t. You could come out of the mixer and patch back in to a channel that went to the mains. Then you have 2 independent faders controlling the same signal but 1 would have additional latency.
If implemented, you would want some feature to lock out band members from accessing the L/R Main.
SQ4You has a mix lock. You can also lock out the EQs and comps.
2023/01/10 at 3:43 pm #110813The knobs aren’t motorized. The display becomes a bar when you turn it.
2023/01/08 at 5:08 pm #110790It’s not just the firmware. It’s the hardware.
Scrolling would be possible, if it weren’t for the firmware character limitation.
2023/01/08 at 4:59 pm #110788This would be useful to build templates for whoever. Guitar focused, singer focused, drummer focused. Our venue went from X32 to SQ6. When people came in with in-ears, I’d just hand out tablets running Mixing Station. SQ can only handle 2 instances before the network stack hits buffer overruns, so I can’t do that any more. Considering SQ4You on a bunch of iPhones, but setting up each player with the groups they need one at a time is a drag.
2023/01/08 at 4:53 pm #110786You can absolutely do that. 2 of my SQ6 knobs are delay time and feedback. Still wish it went all the way to 100%, though.
2022/12/22 at 2:28 pm #110562David Schumann of Mixing Station has definitely demonstrated that a burst of data on the network can overrun a buffer and produce a variety of results, including an unresponsive touchscreen. The SQ should handle that situation more gracefully.
2022/12/20 at 3:22 pm #110528Sending the FX back to itself eliminates the ability to have a single slapback repeat, so that’s a no go.
My basic use case is dub reggae. I have a pair of soft knobs on my SQ6 assigned to regen and delay time. With a very short delay, I need 95%-99% regen to get a nice lengthy “sproing” off a snare hit. Whatever the max regen on the stereo delay is, it isn’t enough. 100%+ would be even better, by a lot. Grab a vocal phrase, get it infinitely circulating, ride the regen, alter the time, and wonderful things happen.
As I understand it, your echoplex sim can do full regen, but of course it doesn’t have tap tempo, which I absolutely need. Over the course of a lyric, I might want 1/4 notes, or a triplet across a full bar, or whatever. The delay time is set by musical feel. It’s an instrument.2022/12/19 at 2:51 pm #110503Couldn’t possibly be easier. No need to even open the desk, let alone modify it.
2022/12/18 at 6:21 pm #110490Still looking for this in Stereo Tap Delay and BBD.
2022/12/18 at 6:17 pm #110489you can use the Copy/Paste keys with the blue Mix keys to quickly copy and paste all the routing from one mix to another
That works until you change a pan in the main mix during a show.
2022/12/13 at 4:26 pm #110433If it’s playback music, you just need to make sure that all of the sends are post fader. Then as you pull down the channel fader, everything else comes down too.
2022/12/12 at 4:33 pm #110405Well, happened here, too. Booted up the SQ6, nothing else running. No touchscreen response. Rebooted the board, all is well. Scary.
@keithjah, are there any diagnostics or anything I can run?2022/12/06 at 6:12 pm #110354I’m not sure when that gets pushed to main. The current Mac beta is 1.8.0(326). You may be able to switch to the beta release track in the app general settings. I don’t remember if that was a thing I had to sign up for.
A&H should really fix this in firmware. It’s some kind of buffer overrun that should be handled more gracefully.
2022/12/06 at 5:58 pm #110353I would love to not have to check if last night’s mix tech set anything stereo. Recall the house default scene and go to work.
2022/12/06 at 5:52 pm #110352If you send the voices only to tops that are crossed at 200, you are high passing them at 200.
