I can attest it is more than likely a networking issue. Verify that everything is good on the networking side of things. Having a dedicated network for the Dlive system is preferred.

2018/08/27 at 8:42 pm #78135If you are taking your direct outs to something that you don’t want to be affected by the channel mute, you can go to setup in the Direct out I/O page and there is a selection that you can click that will stop the mute from affecting the direct outs. I’m not in front of the console so I can’t say 100% that those directions are completely accurate to get to that page but I do know that function can be turned on and off. I had to turn it off as I am also using the direct outs for something similar.
2018/08/27 at 8:33 pm #78134for sending pink noise, you could also assign the pink noise to an input and just bring that up for testing monitors. I do this often on the Dlive as well as some other desks I use. Works great
2018/08/27 at 8:13 pm #78132I don’t think anyone touched on your question about gain tracking. Gain tracking only applies if you have 1 mixrack with to surfaces.
2018/08/09 at 9:22 pm #73254Preferred master and enable external sync is handled in Dante controller. “Enable external control” got me too!

2018/08/09 at 8:41 am #73234I also have a talkback aux where I feed all talkbacks from stage, Foh, coms etc. I use the external input to pafl. It works great. Alternatively, you could feed the pafl bus to a matrix and then feed the matrix to your ears. You can then feed whatever you would like to the matrix. I prefer the six so I can easily mute the coms channel when I want to hear exactly what the musicians hear. I guess you could create a mute group for that as well. The six works fine for me.
2018/08/09 at 8:31 am #73233Here is my solution. Maybe it could help you. I brought talkback mic into a channel. I labeled one Tb to all. That channel is up I. All mixes. I labeled the other Tb. I only push that one up in a single mix if I want to talk to one person. I unmute the Tb to all to talk to everyone. Seems to work out ok for me. Alternatively you could assign the mute for Tb to all to a soft key and then you would t have to take up the space on the surface.

2018/08/09 at 8:18 am #73229Although it is not recommended, we have now switched to using direct outs from FOH to get the signal to monitors and broadcast at one of our installations. It is a large setup with a dm64, 2 dm0’s, 4 dx168’s, and 4 dx32’s. Patching became a nightmare until we switched to using direct outs. Now patching happens at FOH and it’s done. We tell the FOH guys to not use trim because that now affects everyone. We also tell them to get gains set as much as possible during soundcheck and rehearsal and communicate with the other engineers when changing gain. If FOH needs gains to be changed, so does everyone else so really isn’t an issue.
2018/08/09 at 8:10 am #73228Not sure if I understand but can’t you change this on the routing page? It’s not a different pafl bus but you can choose what goes to the iem or wedge?
