Go for it chap iLive is major fun, use freeze in layers for your important channels if you have a lot of inputs going on, turn off the fx return in the same fx group that way you can’t route it to itself. Don’t you just love digital feedback.
    Recall safe is handy also.

I have never had one crash during anything important [:o)] but I guess there is a first time,I have used one on some quite scary gigs but they are pretty friendly toys, they also sound nice.

    Have fun [:D]

What happens when you load the input? try putting a resistor across the input (something around 10K ohms should be OK) then turn the gain up and see if the noise is still there, I don’t see how it could be ground related unless the noise were in the 50-100Hz region.

Do you have anything connected to this input?

Sounds like the PAD story to me, It defaults to on I believe when the channel set up is commenced.
Which I quite like I must admit.

Never known an iLive to be noisy[:p]

Fairly sure an M7 and the PM5 click, though to be honest I hated the verbs so much I could not give a fig. I really miss the iLIve when I can’t have one or even two. [8D]
Generally the quality of the effects do spank quite a lot of others, And I know I am a Luddite but I am not a fan of plug ins either.[:D]

I think the Big Ben (by Appogee I think it is) has DARS reference out along with just about anything else you can think of. I believe they can also be locked to GPS satellite clock also which means you could have 2 Big Bens in two locations without a cable link as long as you can receive the GPS signal.

I used DARS to link two iDR10 racks earlier in the year on the advice of the factory, no issues what so ever.

The T series has different mic amps also, they should sound different though I have not had a chance to play with one yet. ACE could be a faster comms system I guess. The ability to load modules into the surface I would miss

Hmm don’t fancy the M7 route I am being forced to use one this weekend on an orchestral gig, not happy.[V]
When you re-booted the screen did you turn it off and do a hard re-boot or did you use the re-connect box? or did it just re-connect itself?
I was chatting with Andrew last week and he advised me to do a hard re-boot of the surface if possible as it clears any extra junk out of the memory. Worth a thought possibly. Back to 1.43 would be my choice for the weekend, that way you are confident the software works, even if the 1.51 was fine you would still have that little doubt in the back of your mind and you don’t need that with a show to do.
    Have a good gig.[8D]

HI Peter had you been storing any scenes or recalling scenes, anything memory intensive? or was it just sitting there on soak test?
I have been running 1.51 now it seems pretty stable on my system, much better than 1.50 which gave me grief.

Great stuff, all we need now is a few more engineers to take off their blinkers, use their ears and choose a console on merit not promotional budget. Sorry I am of course biased. However I am more than pleased to walk up to an iLive anytime, anywhere.

My guess is it is the resonant frequency Rob, should change with different surroundings I would have thought.
Or possibly if it is when they play an open string?
not sure now I know the noise, a multi band comp should get rid of it without bringing the de-esser that low.

Classic plate I use for soprano’s at outdoor concerts not to big it does not hide the tombre of the voice just gives the inpression of a few reflections which are not there. I use one of the big halls on the orchestra, usually no more than 3 seconds. Very smooth FX though good as anything out there in my opinion. Quite as good as some of the plug in’s I have tried.

Still like the compressor very transparent, still need that multiband though Rob (tee hee) you might just want to include a couple of pre-sets with it.
