I was wondering if it is possible to do this in an IDR32 equipped with a DANTE card:
I have 32 channel analogue inputs.
I’m recording 32 channels from direct outs(after preamp) with one laptop.
Another laptop on the same network is running waves multirack.
So you know where I’m going from there. Can I duplicate direct outs to send to the laptop with multirack? I can always return to 33-64 whatever needs to be returned…Will it be possible?

Where is my DANTE & iMonitor?2010/09/10 at 2:55 am #26342One of the vendors I usually buy from said that we are most likely looking for Winter Namm to see DANTE’s official release.
I hope it is a false rumor…IDR32

Where is my DANTE & iMonitor?2010/09/05 at 5:18 pm #26283This was the most disappointing news I had in the last 5 days.
So, now do I need to drop almost $3K for a madi recording system with I/O ability instead of getting it done under $1K with DANTE?
This is not fair.IDR32

Where is my DANTE & iMonitor?2010/09/04 at 3:34 am #26270So, do we have a way to let performers control their monitor mixes with Behringer BCF or BCR2000?
I just checked 1.70 help and saw:
============================
Mutes – Note On messages
Levels – IP, Mix, FX, DCA – NRPN messages
DCA assignments – NRPN messages
IP to Main Mix assignments – NRPN messages
Preamp Gain – NRPN and Pitch Bend messages
Preamp Pad – Sysex message
Preamp 48V – Sysex message
Channel Name and Colour – Sysex message
Scene recall – Bank select and Program Change messages
===========================In the “Levels” line it says “mix”, but that does not indicate you can manipulate mix content.
Did anybody figure out this aspect?I wish A&H released an iMonitor app after iTweak.

When will we know a time frame for DANTE release?

Where is my DANTE & iMonitor?2010/08/29 at 8:30 pm #26241I have been using a LE1700.
1400×1050 screen resolution is really nice.
Mine came with duo2 core, 2.5GB ram & 30GB Hard disk.I used it with ilive editor last Friday night for the first time. I mixed on IDR32.
There were some moments of “system busy” window popping up when jumping from one channel to another channel “SEL”.
I don’t know if this is a laptop hardware issue, wireless issue, or windows 7 64 bit issue. Maybe it is a simply JAVA programming issue. I’ll never know.
Ilive editor doesn’t work as fast as YAMAHA SM as far as I can compare. I operated a LS9 for a year from the same tablet PC and never had that kinda lagging. I’m on the same wireless network. I got rid of LS9, so I have to learn how to live with that until I can afford a T80 or T112.Burak

2010/06/16 at 2:15 am #25765Your remote connectivity style depends on the church’s Internet connectivity and network.
If you can provide us their Internet/network situation I might be able to make some suggestions.
Does the church’s Internet connection have a static IP?Firewall?
Are you able to plug IDR48 to their network without any restriction?
Does their network have a DHCP server?Do you want to connect to IDR48 directly or is it ok to connect to a computer that is already running ilive editor?
So, more details you provide more we can talk.

2010/05/26 at 6:36 pm #25627Hi Gil;
I didn’t know I could convert cat5 to Adat out so cheap. Good to know.
On the other hand even if I do that, the computer(laptop) side needs a solution like “M-Audio Profire Light bridge Firewire Interface” to accept 32 channels. So it is another expense plus fragile optical cables in the equation. But it is still a solution.
Which interface do you use to accept 32ch Adat outs?

2010/05/19 at 6:01 pm #25622Very good news indeed.
I hope it won’t cost a leg & an arm.2010/05/18 at 1:33 pm #25614Do we know the release date for the DANTE card yet [?]
I’m a Yamaha LS9-32 user and can record 32 channel to laptop via 2x mLan card. It is relatively easy and cost efficient.
Dante solution looks like the most logical way to go.
I’m seriously considering an IDR-32, but I need to be able to record 32 channels.
I’m holding the purchase until I see Dante’s release. -
