I had the same thing happen during a live event last night on a C3500 /CDM48 setup. It was a different fader for me. (Bank A #10). The VJ was at full volume and when I changed back onto his layer (A) from the layer I was on, it brought him to zero. Was not a good moment.

I was able to replicate the issue in front of my boss and another member of our team and got myself off the hook, but we can’t be having that problem again and be expecting to remain employed.

In recalling sound check earlier in the day, I also noticed my iPad fader would snap back to zero as soon as I let it go and it was only on the VJ fader, same fader. As soon as I went to the console and physically moved the fader, my iPad worked fine. It makes me wonder if there is some sort of sync problem between the iPad and the CDM.

I never tried using tie lines, but it does look like the better way to do a digital split. I’ll go that route next time I’m doing a split. We use dante frequently to make signals available to other networked equipment in a production van or other non Allen-Heath consoles. I’ve always used ip-direct out. I’ll see if it works on the tie line as well. I’m curious. Thanks for the advice.

I didn’t have access to the gigaace card (was rental) but I did see that my tap points were post-delay on my ip-direct outs. I’m going to look into this tie-line option instead of ip direct out. I greatly appeciate the assistance.

Sure enough, my tap was post delay. Greatly appreciate the assistance.

Thanks much. I will check this weekend when I am on the cdm again. It is quite possible I left them in BRIDGE mode.

I’d also like to point out that I am offline when I am working on Director and the 1.97 software is just flat out slow. I clicked on things multiple times before realizing how slow it is. When scrolling through plugins, it is ridiculously slow.

1.97 very slow for me too. Also unable to save showfile to usb in 1.97. Using CDM48 and CDM64 with C3500. As new features have been coming out, the surface responses has slowed down significantly. Main thing for me right now is I can’t share me show file with another engineer in 1.97. Screenshots attached. I had the same USB drive in both times. I’ve tried it on Mac OSX Ventura and Windows 10. Same thing.
