Run the firmware update and it takes care of the issue.
I’ve been using my SB for the past 4-5 months since that issue and all is well.
Yeah, I though of maybe sticking a sandbag in the back, but my next step is a 4-space shallow rack from EWI.
I have a number of their racks and cases and they are great for the money.
SKB case will go back to the basement for now.
Finally got the rack kit for the SB, did my first gig with it last night.
AB168 by the drummer for the backline mics and monitors, local inputs on the SB at front of stage.
One thing I am not liking is the SB in the SKB case is pretty front-heavy.
May have to rethink the case…..
Yes, got an email from them last night and placed my order!
Yikes, that would turn this into a VERY expensive set of rack ears!
I’m checking with my Sweetwater guy now….
It seems to be the case that there just aren’t any in the US yet for some reason.
I’m still waiting to find the SB rack ears here in the US
Yeah, me thinks this isn’t going to work as I intended, but I’m going to experiment by splitting the output of a stereo mix into L and R and see how I can use the pan to adjust the mixes.
Dick, so how would you use that box on this situation, where I want to be able to pull 2 mono mixes from the stereo aux?
Don’t think that is possible without running analog outputs to one or the other as a sub-mixer.
This is what I use the Qu-SB and dSNAKE AB168 for. 32 Inputs combined.
Watch the YouTube videos, I found them helpful when I first got my GLD.
The editor app is also a good way to get comfortable with the layout.
I’ve been doing the majority of my smaller shows with a Qu-SB and an AB168.
The dSNAKE gets most of the action (on stage) and the Qu-SB handles a few more local inputs like the wireless rack, mp3 player for breaks, etc…
Killer combination IMHO, and saves space in my SUV and on stage.
Most of the time I am riding a few faders during the show (vocals, guitars) so they live on one Custom Mix layer.
Did a show last night where the band is all on IEM’s, so 3 of the 4 guys used the Qu-You app on their phones to do their own monitor mixes. They loved it, as did I!
My Qu-16 and GLD-80 are getting lonely….
SOLD
Rumor.
The dSNAKE protocol that connects the Qu to the AR84/AB168/AR2412 is proprietary.
Not sure about the iDR-16.
I agree on the system interoperability statement.
I love the fact that I can use my 2 AB168’s and AR84 with either my Qu-16, QU-SB, or GLD-80.
That’s why I have stayed in the A&H family.
