Last I checked the website a couple of days ago, the old version for Mac is still in place, despite them assuring me over a month ago that they were working on it. Way to go Audinate.

Same answer I got several months ago, with the addition of “in the next few weeks.” Shame on you Audinate. This should have been fixed LONG ago.

Good Morning, and thank you for the update. Controller needs to work in order to set up the network in my working environment. I do mostly high school theater at several different venues, all with different setups, and I have to modify the Dante patching in each of them. Good to know that once done, I can run the new Macbook with Catalina and have it stream from Qlab OK. But that doesn’t stop the need for Controller to work properly, and I am unhappy that the Audinate folks don’t seem to think that the Mac users are important enough to get their software updated. I’ve inquired twice and the answer is the same, “we’re working on it…” Not what I wanted to hear. Catalina seems to continue to be a work in process. Thanks again for the information.

Things are, indeed, mixed up, but necessarily so. The standard solution of enabling the external sync does not work for me. When I invoke that setting, it turns red and the entire matrix disappears. I emailed Nicola directly, as I had to solve the problem yesterday or go back to all analog. He suggested, since his normal solution was not working, that I try syncing the dLive back through the i/o port to the Dante card. I did that, and it worked. The pops are gone and the system is working normally. I realize that what I did is the exact opposite of the normal set up, but, once again, that did not work for me. This arrangement does.

Problem resolved. After corresponding with Nicola directly, I changed the sync on the dLive from internal to the Dante card in port 1. The pops disappeared. It appeared to be not possible to do the sync in the other direction, from the Dante card back to the dLive as Dante Controller errored out each time. This fix is working, had no issues with final dress last night. Thanks much Nic for the help!!

I don’t think it has anything to do with the show file, as the local theater company I lent the desk to over the summer reported the same issue to me when I asked about it. I’ll follow up once I have completed the current production, levels are all set and I don’t need to change them now. Thank you.

Old card. I think it is 48k only and the ulxd receivers are 48k too. Does the dlive need to be set to 48 kHz rather than 96k?

Nicola — experiencing pop problem noted above but when I set sync to external it turns red and the entire matrix disappears. C3500 surface latest firmware in Dante card cdm 48 mixrack. What am I doing wrong?

I think I found the answer. In another post, Nikola notes that the ACE B port sends channels 21 through 60 by default. I think I have to go into the ACE setup and assign IP1 to channel 21, and so on to get the IP sends correct for the monitor mixer. There is one rather obscure reference to that in the ME1 manual. Back to the theater tomorrow to see if that’s it.

Nobody??? More work on the problem shows that the system is actually placing IP 21 in the number 1 spot, and mixing in the other channels in random order. I’ve submitted a ticket, but the show I am working opens in 3 days. I guess I will just put the MMO card back in and run it in Aviom mode. Not at all what I expected from this expensive piece of equipment.

So it appears that the app had become corrupted. Once I deleted and reloaded, it acted like it should.

Tried closing and re-opening several times last night. Today, at home, deleted and reinstalled, so will see when I get to the theater this afternoon whether that helped. This GLD is owned by the high school theater, and I have not used it until this run. Our own GLD has always worked fine with the remote software, so I guess it could be a setting, although I looked at the network settings and didn’t see anything odd. If the reset works, I’ll post again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks all for comments and thoughts. My partner put in a tech support request, and the problem was narrowed down to an ethernet connection via wireless router, a question that another poster asked. Steve removed the router connection and the problem went away. My thought is that, even though the network was private with only the GLD and an iPad connected, somehow something MIDI’ish was coming in over the ethernet link. Not sure if MIDI over Ethernet can be turned off, but suggested that to my partner as something to try in order to maintain the ability to control things with either the laptop or iPad.

Thanks again, and perhaps this thread will help someone else.

Correct. He was not touching it at all, it was randomly unmuting and remuting. He finally dropped the faders completely out and was adding effects manually, not the way he wanted to do it! Was not set to delay tempo, although the last softkey was used for tap.

You might have a look at Palladium and MicPlot, both by Chris Hubbard at CH Sound Design in Australia. Palladium is his show control program and will take a file from MicPlot, his wireless mike utility, and do all the scene programming for you. Chris has a template fore the iLive series that will handle fader levels and mutes, so you can set things up as Richard suggests. Extremely versatile, demo version available, although you may have to ask for the iLive template. The only issue I have is when reconfiguring the system for different numbers of busses, they are not easily identified in the software but once found can be labelled and used, i.e. EQ busses, Main busses, etc. Setting up requires some knowledge of MIDI programming, as that is what the software uses to run things. MS Windows only, or a Mac with BootCamp. Disclaimer — I love Chris’s work and use his software extensively, have suggested some ideas that have been incorporated into the programs but have no financial or other interest in the company. Chris is a working sound guy and wrote both these programs when they began to help him do shows. Very helpful and friendly guy.
