Do you have IP controllers connected to it? I have seen it in the past where those can cause what you described. Rebooting the ip controllers solved it for me.

Glad it solved your problem. for me it worked simply rebooting the IP1…not the console.

True, if you set the attack time to 20 seconds, the compressor wouldn’t work. But if you set the attack time to 1 second and the release to 20 seconds, it would essentially be the same thing as a auto gain control.

I do not feel that we need to have someone with fingers on the faders for such a simple thing as raising or lowering volume a bit between the ~45 minute speakers.
I should look into AMM, but I didnt think it was meant for one microphone.

There are AGC modules available for processors for a reason.

If a sound goes over a certain threshold, the sound would be compressed until it does not go over the specified threshold for 10 seconds.

+1 for gain addition to gang, I would also like to see an option for ganging for all mixes as well as LCR.

Hi, Thank you for the response, and sorry for not being more clear.

What I am trying to do is using the equipment I already have and use to edit audio, for hifi audio listening.
I am playing the sound from a computer into the SQ5 via usb and have my Sennheiser HD800s plugged into the monitor jack, and am wondering if I am getting any loss of quality this way. Second question was if I need a headphone amp with the Sennheisers and SQ5.

Mine did the same thing. For me, the USB drive wasn’t prepared correctly. I believe i forgot to extract the zip file.

I just restarted the console and it gave me an option to update firmware or cancel. I just prepared the firmware correctly and clicked update. Update happens quickly.

I noticed high CPU usage from Avantis Director on my Macs too. it also takes 20-100 seconds to connect to the Avantis on wifi connections where it only takes 2 seconds for the iPad app.
overall I am getting good use out of the Avantis Director. I am new to &

I agree that the best way is to have fingers on the console, but for some of our smaller events we don’t have anyone at the console.

do you think i would gain anything with the D-Pack compressor over the free compressor for speech?
