Well, SQ5 here, I want a fader for it. 🙂
I mean the control that is labeled “Listen Level” and can mapped to the master fader when setting up the console as monitor (in Setup -> Mixer Config -> Role).
That Listen Level control can not be mapped to any other fader than the master fader which for a completely digital console is total nonsense.
Uhm… yes, that is exactly what a feature suggestion is: “I don’t want to do tedious thing X in order to Y, make it easier to do Y, please.” Also a feature suggestion: “I did X, and Y happened but I expected Z. Can you make Z happen instead of Y?” Not a feature suggestion: “Can you please insult me because I want to do X?” – Know the difference!
Sure, and if layer A were empty by default that would be a good solution for me. I do like to avoid touching default configurations until necessary, though… however, not switching layers on reboot will also not wear out the faders as fast (though you probably are doing something very wrong if you have to reboot so often as for this to be a problem… :).
I mean, I can always duplicate a channel and use the original one for the Main and the second for the mix and as long as I have free input channels I guess that has to suffice. 🙂
Hey Keith,
thanks for the prompt reply (even if it’s not the one I wanted). 🙂
Well, there would be a number of ways to handle the display (e.g. allow the user to specify a custom name and color for any combination of input channel and mix bus, that’s only 576 more names and colours!) but yes, if of course “mix selection always changes the target of a fader” is fundamental in concept (and not only in realization), then my suggestion can only be declined. 🙂

Hey Steffen,
I want a fader that only ever controls input chanel 7’s contribution to mix bus 4, regardless of which mix bus is currently selected. Is that clearer? 🙂
