Maybe you should read the quick start guide first.
The function of the screen encoder is mentioned there.Attachments:

Do I still need to have my surface (s5000) plugged into the dante network?
Ha? That makes no sense at all.
More information please…When I plug in my router to control the surface via ipad, I lose the whole dante network and have to re-address everything (amps, wireless, surface, etc) for the dante network.
That has nothing to do with the desk, it’s your WiFi configuration that not matches to the needs.
You need to rethink your setup!2024/04/06 at 10:49 pm #121106can I link the SQ7, AR24x12 and AR84 via a network switch and use them separately
No. You need to connect the AR84 to the Expander socket on the AR2412.
You can keep the AR2412 switched on for using the AR84, you don’t need to use it for I/O.A direct connection to the AR84 or an AB168, giving you more I/O would be possible too.
And the AB168 can connect to the expander port as well.Or is that something that the DX Hub would do?
The DX hub connects with DX boxes only, not with AR or AB.
2024/04/06 at 10:35 pm #121105At least he takes just one key lesson!
I’ve tried to emulate the same configuration using the SQ-5.
But this isn’t possible, since these are very different systems.
2024/04/05 at 10:19 am #121064You can ask the support team about it.
They will try to help you to get your system working again.2024/04/01 at 12:58 pm #120988BTW, if you are satisfied with a simple stereo mix, you can record a configurable stereo output to a USB-stick.
2024/03/31 at 9:24 am #120962This is a thread about Avantis. Wrong forum!
2024/03/30 at 11:27 am #120933The option is only valid if you use preamps.
With USB sources it’s not available.2024/03/30 at 11:14 am #120931As others already stated… easy.

Nothing unusual here.2024/03/26 at 11:23 pm #120782A mouse makes no sense on a touch optimized system.
Maybe you should buy a Mac? No touch!2024/03/26 at 12:56 pm #120748The DX32 would be a possible alternative. But it’s expensive. And it has no cascade mode.
2024/03/25 at 11:14 pm #120723Nothing is layer specific, you can configure every strip in every layer to every possible channel.
And it is very easy to double patch inputs.2024/03/25 at 2:00 pm #120694do the inputs on the left of the screen correspond to the SQ’s channels 17 thru 24
If you are patching tie lines, this isn’t related to the input strip patching.
You can patch your inputs independent of the tie lines. In the tie lines tab, you can select the possible input connections to appear on the left.
DX32 inputs will appear under SLink 1-32. The numbers will correspond with the slot the module is mounted too.Slot 1 is 1-8, slot 2 is 9-16 and so on… If there is an output module or no module connected, this is unavailable for patching.
A tie line input needs no channel representation on the surface.
But it would help to control the preamp quicker than selecting the I/O page and finding the socket.
Keep in mind, preamp control is possible on the input page only, not on the tie lines page.2024/03/24 at 5:54 pm #120675Tie lines are direct connections without channels.
