In insert mode, can you only use one channel at a time. When I played around with it, that’s way it appeared to work.

Thanks Willmodelisme. The window that shows recordings does not automatically register a new recording until you press it. Based on your screenshot, I messed with it until I found how to do it.

On the Record/Multitrack page, the channels are listed. They are input mono channels 1-16, L & R stereo channel, aux channels 3-6, and L & R Mains.

I have attached a screen shot of this:

I can play any of the input channels by going to setup and configuring them for digital rather than analog. I can record channels 23 & 24, Left Right Mains but I can’t find a way to play them back on the CQ-18T. I can however play them back on my laptop from the SD card.

Still mystified why I can’t play back recorded tracs 23 & 24 in multi-track recording. The input tracks 1-18 where the input source can be changed from analog to digital work fine.

Does Not Work: SanDisk Extreme USB 3.1 64 GB

It’s been some labor but these are my findings so far:

Stereo Q-Drive recordings are recorded to the USBREC folder and must be manually copied over to the USBPLAY folder (using a laptop) for the QU-16 to find them. They are then played back on St3 input.

Multitrack Q-Drive recordings are recorded to the USBMTK folder and the QU-16 can find them immediately after recording (without copying on a PC) and they play back on St1.

Not many USB thumb drives are recognized by the QU-16. My Sandisk Extreme 3.1 64 GB, Cruzer, or Seagate USB hardrive is not recognized. Only my old Optima 16 GB is recognized. My PC recognizes all of the without problems. This USB weakness is for the birds and needs serious attention from Allen & Heath!!!

Multi-tracking records 1-16 channel inputs plus additional left and right mix channels on 17 and 18. Selecting 1-16 plus the USB button above the gain knob works great for these channels but how do I load and play back the left/right channels, 17&18? I’m sure it’s something simple but I’ve played with it for hours and watched every youtube video I can get my hands on. Perhaps the machine won’t even do this?

Oh gosh, it’s actually tracks 17 & 18 and I don’t know how to edit my post.

I did format the memory stick and that seemed to work fine. I ordered a new Sandisk Extreme to see if that cures it because this old stick may be causing issues. I noticed when I recorded on Q-Drive, it put the recordings in the recording folder but not in the play-back folder. Had to copy the wav files manually to the playback folder before the QU could play them back (perhaps routing?) and then they were extremely glitchy. Going from a Zed 10FX is full stun regarding complexity.
