Make sure Routing is de-selected in the ganging attributes for main L&R possibly?
I think the Default is no ganging of the routing and the faders.
By ganging the Routing of main L&R was the only way I could make it do funny things.

Hope I am right, I am sure Carey will have chapter and verse on this.

Think that needs someone with a far better brain than me to answer. However the way I understand it is, if you use the ES”A” channels that the mix rack uses any changes you make to the desk show up on the recorded versions? by using ES”B” you can just get the result of the gain of the Pre amp/A-D and not the rest of the functions EQ dynamics etc. But as I said this is a bit advanced in the recording dept for me I could be completely wrong!!!. Maybe if Carey spots this he could enlighten you.

Graham the CAT5 E-F is very flexible my only concern would be how rugged is it. I have used it for ages as patch cables works a treat, however I think you should look at a more deployable version such at Neutrik Etherflex lots of people sell it, I get my stock from CLD https://www.cld-dist.co.uk/
Other options I looked at were Beldon https://www.canford.co.uk/Browse/22787.aspx
These are not screened, which whilst not an issue I just felt I should have a screened cable, not just for electrical reasons I always think it is a bit more rugged.

Last one was a Battlefield deployable one sold by Bryant Broadcast
    https://www.bryant-broadcast.co.uk/iqs/cpti.529/dbitemid.101/sfa.view/cables.html
Trouble with this was I could not find a plug it would go into and I could not bend it but boy it was tough for sure.

The Hybrid version mentioned in previous post sounds interesting but I feel it is just as easy to put out a power cable of suitable size for the sittuation, same as a comms cable.

Dave if you hi-light the ESA window with the number 33 in it, then using the encoder wheel you can change the channel number (I assume up to 62 I only checked to 48 ish)then assign whatever you want to it.
Well you can on the desk I have out in the W/Shop at the moment.
    Hope this helps

Dale I think you will find it is the Shift key not the Ctrl key which needs to be held for multiple select, well it does in the version of the editor I currently have.
My version also comes up with an option screen when I first start the editor to allow me to select sytem set up etc.

    Hope this helps

Unless I misunderstand you have library based everything you just have to populate the library with the set ups you feel are worth saving, is it not in the user library of each section?

If I find a particular eq that works and I like it I just save it and it is available for me next time,I do not think it is up to a manufacturer to produce this kind of stuff really.

HI Wolfgan I believe it only makes sense if the units are “On Line” as you need seamless changeover to back-up.
The cheap units I use are by a company called Trust, these units I believe are made in Holland.(www.trust.com/14938) The model number is PW-4095T 950VA UPS. I believe this unit has sufficient capacity to run a rack with two supplies or a surface + back up PSU
I know other guys use APC and they all work fine I am sure.
I purchased my units (I have them on the office PC’s as well)through CPC/Farnell but again I am sure the same or simmilar units are available through local suppliers. The down side of these particular units is they are NOT rack mount but I live with that.

Don’t know if it is reccomended Dave, but to be honest I use one for the surface and another for the mix rack. I just got two cheap stand alone units cost me about £35 each, just in case some fool kicks a plug out somewhere. saves waiting for a re-boot. I know another owner has 2 fancy rack-mount UPS units one installed in the rack with the iDR10 (non standard rack) the other in a rack at FOH with the fibre switch he uses for comms between the rack and the surface.
Can’t do any harm now can it.

Scott I think you fill find the DCA logo in the LCD screen on the channel strip flashes when the DCA is in mute, though I am with you if the Mute light flashed I guess that would be handy.

Ah, if that were my only bit of stupidity, been in the wrong mix a few times as well. However It is still a great desk, the more I use it the more I like it.

Bit off topic but I saw and chatted with the Alphabeat crew at the 02 I was very impressed with their wired and wireless networking of their iLive set up, it even has an old luddite like me looking for a spare wireless router in the warehouse to play with in the dark and boring days of January.
Walking about doing the levels, EQ and delays on the system brings back happy memories. Don’t suppose there is any chance of A-symetric filters in the EQ section chaps?

More suggestions, 8 band parametric on the outputs (well 6-8 I still don’t like graphics)
Prgrammable mute groups to soft buttons, The DPR901 (I Know Rob is working on it) Global update of a channel setting in all stored scenes though don’t have a clue how that would be achieved.
Insertion of scenes (I know it has been mentioned before)
Think that is it for now I am sure there will be more.

What a good request bit like lighting I guess.
Quick answer would be to store scenes a few numbers apart say scene 4 then 2 blank then scene 7.Still a good idea for theatre though.
