Just to be clear, “Direct Output” routes to the USB-B connector on the back of the mixer, to the ME Personal Monitor Via the D-Snake and also to an Effect, if the Effect is set for a single channel. The insert point is global. Meaning if it is changed, it affects all of the above.
But none of those things affect the Q-Drive USB-A Port on the top of the mixer. That signal comes “Hard Wired” from the channel pre.
I just want to make sure I understand. I did a search of the manual and it doesn’t really define “Direct Output”. It’s a very versatile mixer and with versatility comes complexity. I thrive on this stuff!

Come to think of it, I don’t use the knobs very often. I select what I want to change on the LCD screen and then turn the encoder.
As far as workflow goes, you get used to the layers. It’s not a big deal. It’s like when you buy a new car. Not everything is in the same place as your old car but that doesn’t detract from its value or usability. It just takes a little time. And like I mentioned in the response to your earlier post (it even says it in the manual) make it a habit to return to the main level after making a change to one of the other levels.

Yes I tried Reaper. It works well. I won’t really need it until later in the year. I’ll wait for the update.Thank you for the timely response!

Thank You!2014/01/27 at 4:32 am #37441Here is a picture of the new LED’s that indicate the current layer on the Qu-24

You must be logged in to view attached files.2014/01/26 at 5:31 pm #37426You can adjust the brightness of the LED’s by holding down Setup * Button and turning the encoder. I had just the opposite problem when I first played around with mine. I had to turn them down.
The new Qu-24 has additional LED’s above the faders.
I think the trick to working with layers (and it is mentioned in the manual) is to always return to the main layer after adjusting something else.
Lastly, if you can use the custom layer, you can mix and match inputs and outputs from the different layers so you don’t have to switch very often.
2014/01/23 at 4:28 pm #37340I think it’s great! I guess it doesn’t matter what you build, it will never suit everyone. If it was a thirty-two someone would probably gripe that it was too big.
They gave us what we have been asking for since last year. More channels, Sub-Groups and additional outputs.
I want one.
2014/01/01 at 10:41 pm #37036It’s actually kind of comforting isn’t it? Maybe the mixer is so reliable that no one has to use this forum.
2013/12/31 at 1:21 am #37017We could also set up the next band while there is a band on stage during a festival.
2013/10/18 at 3:10 pm #35315I would like to the QU-Pad App to display the clock at the top.
2013/10/17 at 1:05 am #35199I have a request too.
I would like the QU-Pad App to display the clock. Clocks are very handy for sound engineers.mamerica
Mpls, MN USA2013/09/27 at 6:41 pm #34995The release notes for 1.10 say to enable DHCP on the mixer. I did so and it works fine. Have you tried that?

Press the Setup Button
Select the Custom Layer Tab
Touch the X under CH1
Rotate The Encoder clockwise to select channel you want to control from that position.
You can choose Inputs 1-16, ST1-ST3, FX1-FX4 Return, FX1-FX2 Send, Mix1-Mix10 and LRThe Fn button below is used to add the next custom channel.

Mpls, MN USA2013/09/01 at 10:43 pm #34705I just figured out a way to do this. Don’t laugh, it works!
Patch the 2TRK Out to Stereo 1 In using short, 1/4 inch balanced jumpers.
Assign Stereo 1 to Mix 9-10 and un-assign it from L/R
Assign the Alt-Out Source to Mix 9-10
Drive the Delay Speakers off the Alt Out Jacks
Adjust the delay time at the Mix 9-10 Process ScreenThe main L/R Fader will now control the mains and the delay speakers. You can adjust the relative gain of the delayed speakers with the Alt Volume Control.
