    We used regular Cat5e UTP temporarily (75′) and it worked perfectly.

    Its plain ethernet communication so there is nothing special needed. With that said though, shielding and the use of cat6 cable all allow for cleaner communications if you are in a high noise (EMI) area. Unlike analog though, it will take a lot to cause an issue.

    Do you know the spec for the PoE? Which standard (voltage etc) does it comply with?

    I want to make sure I match up the right kind of switch.
