I’ve got a similar problem: 10 element reggae band, 27 channel, lot of shows are festival with more band. Using the GLD for both FOH and monitoring.
I was thinking of building/buying a passive splitter with standard 8 channel multipin connectors so i can use the festival multicore, but i don’t know how to then connect easily the GLD with the festival consolle, that have probably a 48ch multipin connector…

So, basically, all the problems are with the USB, so, if i don’t connect any USB, i will have no problems?
How can i see if the GLD is working with the USB?
I mean, i usually have some random music in my usb, to play before the show (so no need for a PC or an MP3 reader), plug the USB, press play, concert start, then press stop on the GLD reader: when i can unplug the USB key?
I have 1.22 firmware, the only 2 freeze that i check was when i plugged an USB, both time with playback music (fortunately i was at home testing the GLD).

+1 for the “reboot screen but not the entire system”.
For the multichannel recording just get a Dante card and a laptop with Cubase
I like if when i press the SEL button on EQ, comp, etc, the screen automatically jump to the EQ, comp, etc page, even if the “processing” button is not pressed.
And i love if they make avaiable a multiband compressor in the FXs.

+1 for the foam.
I have mine AR2412 and 84 in a 4 units rack, 2412 on top and 84 under it. Tighten the 8 rack screw and fill the side, top and bottom space between rack and AR with small peaces of foam.

I use a 50m Bespeco CAT6 cable with RJ45 connectors without a problem.
For the library the best thing to do is make your own preset!

I checked mine in studio for 2 days, about 4-5 hours of free mixing (get some project on internet and did some test mixing)without problem.
Version 1.22, no issues except a couple of screen freezing, both times when i plugged the usb pen and press play: after a couple of minutes, the monitor freeze. The USB channels goes directly to the LR bus, no subgroup routing.
Seems GLD have some trouble eating USB’s

@martijn: yes, but RME’s card is about 1200 euros in italy, the same for the MADI card…
For Dante’s card is about 1400, if i can find something easy/cheaper, it will be great!
I’ll search for AuviTran stuff.
