If the only reason you are duplicating inputs is to get a pre-compressor feed to your monitors, you may want to look into the routine features on your aux masters. You can determine where in the signla chain the aux send takes its signal.
Right click on the aux master and navigate to the routine submenu. then select the point that is most appropriate for you. In your case something pre-compressor.

Ps. I do need to get in touch with iLive Rental companies, for Miami, Austin, Los Angeles and Chicago, ASAP. Ds.For Los Angeles and sorrounding areas:

I don’t work for them however do know they have and use iLive equipment.
2011/10/13 at 9:12 pm #29730I thought I’d just chime in on this.
I have probably a smaller set up than most as I use it to do sound for my own band (we do 80’s new wave covers) but I can’t say enough for the iLive system and its capabilities.
I use a single iDR16 with a laptop/ipad and the amount of power and flexibility that comes with even that system is unmatched. I love the fact that you can easily get into the iLive system with a basic setup like my own (with all the processing of the big boys) with it easily scaling up over time into what you need.
Not to mention our entire pa system fits in 8 rack spaces. I feel sorry for the local sound guys now who are stuck using their outdated gear and have 8 rack spaces (or more!) dedicated to just a few effects, eq’s, compressors and gates. Let alone everything else. When they see my setup, they are blown away.

Any thoughts?I can do this today with my MADI card or I would assume a Dante card. WAVES sells their MultiRack software stand alone, so I’m not sure what this card will give you that you can’t already do today.

Originally posted by jgroomsMy iLive system has been working fine, but today i was saving a show and the system hung. Now the editor wont come up in either offline or when i try to connect to my mix rack. It simply hangs on the “please wait” screen. same behavior connecting wirelessly or wired.
my ipad connects fine to the mixrack, just not the editor. Once again my system was working fine before this.
Any ideas?
Win 7 32 bit ultimate
iDR-16 mixrack
no surface
v1.80 firmwareWell I didn’t have time to wait for a reply or troubleshoot this. Fresh install of Windows and iLive Editor and the problem goes away. Would appear it is some sort of bug in the sofware after a crash.
2011/06/06 at 6:35 pm #28520Yes I was in demo mode and after I connected to my MixRack I did see the change.
However, I was mixing a show using the iPad and did notice the same behavior. I attributed it to slow WiFi repsonse as it did eventually change to the correct channel settings. Is this is a known problem?
What made this a confusing is that you never know when the “update” is finally complete and you are seeing all current settings for the channel but the iPad app immediately says you are editing “channel x” in the top right. It would be nice if it said “loading” or it changed color or something so you know that what you are looking at is still the previous channel.
Still would like a manual. I am sure there are little things that I could learn about the application.

I use a netgear router and it works just fine.

I’m mixing my band now on a A&H iDR-16 and a laptop with an investment of 5k. That is pretty hard to beat considering what you get.

thanks.
After more toying around, I see you can change the inputs individually in the preamp section to a MADI input, which works fine. However, this can be tedious to do for each track. Is there a shortcut that just switches all inputs to MADI and back?
The virtual soundcheck video implies there is an option that just “switches” the inputs however he is using a surface to do it and doesn’t give details as to where he is on the surface. Can the editor do this? If so where is that menu option?
you need the surface……..in the mixrack/setup/mixer prefs page …..
I’m doing a similar thing with m-MMO and I made 2 scenes that switch only the physical patch and the pre amp/trim levels (essentially from mic to line) all other parameters are untouched….so you only do it once without affecting your

R-72/iDR32/iPS10
Really? So you can’t do it from the editor? Wow, that kinda sucks.. I am only doing this for 16 tracks but still, seems like such a simple feature to implement..

I’m curious, what iPad model do you have (memory) that isn’t enough? I am about to purchase an iPad and if there are known memory requirements I want to be able to purchase an iPad with enough RAM.
2011/03/01 at 6:03 pm #27590I’m seeing a lot of talk and anticipation of the Dante cards, what are the advatanges over say the MADI card which is already available?
