Great blog post. Answered a lot of questions. It seems the server is a must. Just makes it a more expensive proposition. Looks like I’ll be waiting to see what in the next SQ update before dropping more cash.

My interpretation of what I read was, to mitigate latency, you would need the Waves or Dante card which are connected via Ethernet cable. The Multirack would be used in live situations. This could be a native solution, whereas channel processing would be done on your computer. I believe you are able to run 64 racks, 8 effects/processors each rack. Latency would depend on how many other processes you’re running at that time. I do not believe you would be able to record at the same time. The racks and channels would be seen on your computer.

Not sold on the server if your computer is dedicated only to sound. I think your latency will go up if you are running other processes. The impact server is an i3 with 4gb ram. I would be running i7 with 16gb. Can’t see a huge difference, without having to pay another $500.

In the research I’ve done, i’m trying to do the same thing, to accomplish this for live sound without the use of a DAW, you would need a Waves card and the Waves Multirack app. You would achieve the least amount of latency if your computer was purely dedicated to that purpose. I’m definitely open to other suggestions or ideas also.

So if you are using an AB168 are you sending signal to your speakers at 48 or 96hKz? Getting differing answers to this. I understand the SQ is doing all it’s processing at 96kHz, so are benefiting from that speed and or sample rate if you are using AB168 rack?

FREE Soundcraft Si Impact 2.0 Firmware Update Doubles Total Channels to Mix!

Soundcraft just updated their Si series….. I’m sure AH could send something our way. I’d love to see an RTA underlay. The QU pad app, though very useful, seems unfinished.

I found it easiest with my I pad. Double tap on LR EQ screen copy/ paste prompt will show up. Select copy. Go to your mix EQ process screen and double tap. Choose paste.

I utilize the pink noise if no one is around, then double check with the frequency sweepable noise. Set up is the time I wish the QU series had a better graphic RTA.
I tried using a Driverack with the QU in the past, I thought they fought against each other. You have to make up your mind as to which EQ you were we’re going to use in system set up and stick with that choice. I personally think the QU has a more accurate EQ.

That is really sad if there are no more updates coming for the QU series. Obsolete and unfinished!!

iPad Pro 9″ and or my iPad mini w/ Retina display. Both work extremely well. iPad mini a little small for my fingers when using the graphic EQ.

Andreas, what is the hookup for airplay to the QU? Is it streaming in, as in to a particular channel?
