Tested (using Magix Vegas Pro 15 (3.84)) and I’m expiriencing a lot less distotions, although it is still (slightly) noticeble.
But many thanks for the update.

    Hi all,

I’m still having playback problems. I used the files provided by Nicola A&H.
    What did I do:
Used WD drive Utility to update my WD-Drive. Did the long test. Everything OK.
Factory default the QU-16. Re-installed the firmware.
Format the WD on the QU-16. Again format the WD on the QU-16.
Copied the files from my W7 PC to the WD.

    My QU-16:
    Firmware: 1.31 – Rev 2966 2014/02/04 09:33:50
    MAC 1: 00:04:C4:00:8F:03
    MAC 2: 00:04:C4:00:8F:04
    DAC Temp: 58 (Hi 59, Lo 46)
    CPU Board: 04
    Audio Board: 09
    Surface Board: 11
    Fader Firmware: V56.e
    Processor: 0302E01F-AB359806-50B01620-F5000582

    Yes!
That was the answer we were waiting for. I do understand it will take some time, but the announcement that you are working on it is for this moment enough for me.
Thanks that you are listening to your customers and keep up the good work!

Correct me if I’m wrong, (in GEQ) but just tap the selection button to “zero” on the console (as said in the manual page 20). In the app there is a reset button. So please Read The Fine Material.

    From the knowledge base:
    Known issues – Other:

Some USB noise can be heard on the ST3 input channel when the top panel ST3 mini-jack input is selected as its source and nothing is plugged in.
Mute this channel or turn its fader off when it is not being used. The noise is not present when an audio source is plugged in.

After contact with A&H Support on another issue (recording) I asked for the feature to USB streaming on a PC.
This was the answer: “as for PC connectivity, I guess if there is enough people on the forum asking for this it will definitely help to see the demand is there”
So if there are any PC-users please react on this topic. I can’t imagine it’s only Mac-users using the QU-16….

Yesterday I did a new test (as advised by Allen & Heath Support (Maf)). It all worked well.

What I first tried was: I’d copied a former recording from my PC. I converted the tracks to the same audio format as the QU-16 uses (48Khz/24bits). That I played back. This replay was with hickups. I did send A&H a sample of it. They will investigate.

So for me, the problem is solved. I’ll try to record the next gig (in about 10 days) to see what’s happening.
Tomorrow I’ll receive my second QU-16 so I can test myself on two machines.
    I’ll keep you posted.

    Hello,

Just checked my WD for the latest firmware. It tells me I’m already on the latest (v1.022).
I already made a Helpdesk ticket. They replied very quickly that they have passed the ticket to Sam.

    (My system:
    Firmware: 1.11 – Rev 2434 2013/09/26 09:53:30

    Hello Sam,

Thanks for for quick response. I’m at work now, but when I’m at home I’ll get the answers.

Here’s a copy of my post in the QU-troubleshooting forum. (Tried to link, but it will not work)

I’m trying to record (multitrack) on a Western Digital My Passport 500GB USB3.0/USB2.0 device with my QU-16.
    Current firmware: Qu16UpdtV1_11_2434.QUU

Recording is OK. When I import the files on a PC they’re OK with no hickups.
Trying to playback on te QU-16 every ~2 seconds there’s a hickup of a short period of time (<1 sec).
What I tried: Reset the QU-16 to Factory-setting. Reinstalled the firmware. Format the WD on the QU-16.
I especially bought this device because it’s on the “Tested USB devices from 27oct13″. I wanted to buy a 1 or 2 Tb, but I didn’t want to take the risk.
    Anyone any suggestions?

    Hello,
Almost the same here… See this link

(I’m trying to link to “Hickups during playback with WD My Passport 500GB” in the “Troubleshooting”)

    Hope will get resolved.
