For info, as ive managed to sort my issues. Connecting the PC to the router still gave connection loss errors so we thought it was the network card in the SQ. Following this check though we connected the PC straight into the desk, bypassing the router and the connection was stable, ruling out the network card. We have now set the router back up, disabling the DHCP function and going for a fixed IP address and everything is now stable again. I dont know if its a fault of the DHCP in the network card, the router or a bug in the system but for now it seems to be working fine again.

Hi, did anybody ever get to the bottom of this?

My SQ6 has been working fine until recently when I’ve started to experience constant connection loss between the desk and the router. To eliminate a router fault i’ve downloaded the mix pad software to a PC and connected the PC direct to the router, the connection loss still occurs so looks like the network card to me but it seems to be a common fault. MY SQ6 was one of the very first made so I was wondering if there has been any revisions made to the card? I’m in touch with Audio Technica in Leeds at the moment to get a replacement.

I’m using a DLink dual band router and i’m finding problems on both 2.4 and 5.0Ghtz. Im finding that when the ipad is in use around the venue then the desk surface can become unresponsive and only returns to normal when the ipad is turned off.

I have a Sandisk Ultra USB3 32GB drive, it would never work on the QU16 but now seems to work fine on an SQ6

It took me ages to get one of my bands to use this app, they don’t like change! After 1 gig though they were hooked after finding out how easy it is to use. Now they are reluctant to let me get an SQ until the apps ready. I’m looking at end of this month for the new desk so pleased I won’t be without the app for long.

I’ve not played anymore but can you select any of the mix outputs as your inputs. If that is possible you could direct the reference channel to mix 3 and the reference mic to mix 4 and set both mixs to pre fader with just the channel feeds you require set to unity.

My initial thought was if the measurement mic input and music source for the reference channel could be panned left and right but im struggling at routing audio back to my laptop.

Hi, I usually just use a lead from the ipad and run it into channels 15 and 16 but if these channels are in use you can use ST1 on the top layer.

Another way is use a stereo lead with small jacks and go straight from the ipad into the small ST3 jack on the top right of the console and then use the ST3 slider, again on the top layer.

I’m using a PA2 as well and find the crossover very good and easy to use. I do find though that when I try to set up in a venue that has people already in it usually tells me that the background noise is too high and won’t run some of the Wizards.

Thanks guys, you’ve given me some ideas to play with. I will set it up in the garage shortly and have a play with it.

Cheers guys, I’m using local inputs so no D Snake to worry about. A hard reset has reduced the problem but not cured it totally although it is now at a point where I wouldn’t really have noticed it to start with.

Got a little update on my recent problem, I got my desk back today, after being repaired, with a new DSP board and CPU board. Cheers to A&H for a speedy turn around for me.

i bought my desk about six weeks ago, upgrading from a mix wizard. 3 wks ago i did a wedding for my friend, just his guitar and 1 vocal mic. everything was great, had done 3 songs and all i was doing was killing the reverb inbetween songs by using an asigned soft key on my ipad. Half way through the the 4th song, without touching anything the reverb just took off and the volume got louder and louder. It ended up taking out 3 speaker drivers and i ended up having to get by with just a spare monitor.

Then just this week, at the beginning of a gig the desk just suddenly started creating white noise as soon as i started to play music on my phone which was plugged into ch15 & 16.

I’ve spoken to A&H and the desk is now away being looked at but their initial thoughts are a fault on the DSP board.

I’ve just had a similar issue with mine. I set up the levels, did a sound check so the band were ready to go. we had ten minutes to kill before the start so i pluged my phone into channels 15&16, as soon as i pressed play it just chucked out ear piercing white noise. I muted all the channels and it was still there, so again not an input problem. I thought then, if i recalled a scene it may reset itself but all it did was to reload the settings inc the master volume and blast out the white noise again. then as quickly as it started it stopped and never repeated itself during the gig.

I’ve spoken to A&H and they think its a fault with the DSP board so the desk is currently away getting looked at.

The funny thing is the desk is only 6 weeks old and 3 weeks ago i had a similar problem where it seemed to get itself into an fx loop and that ended up taking out 3 speaker drivers. Now at the time i thought it was something i had done wrong having just converted to a digital desk but now I’m sure it wasn’t, i was only mixing 1 guitar and 1 vocal mic.

Lets see what the outcome is when it returns, if they find the fault then great otherwise I personally don’t think its fit for purpose.
