I have an SQ5 and an Qu16. I want to (as Keith outlined as a possibility) use the SQ as the venue’s main desk and the QU for a streaming mix.

I want the new tech running the stream, using the Qu16, to have a mix (locked custom layer would be nice) that he can adjust to taste. How would I patch this on our new SQ5? Do I have to make any I/O changes on the Qu16?

I did as you said, Keith. I first recorded 5 dummy multitracks on the SQ5. I then opened the files and pasted my copied QU-16 wav files on top of the SQ5 wav files – using “replace existing files.” It worked well but I did noticed that I was bringing over 18 files from the QU-16 and the SQ5 folders, that I had just made, had only 16 files each. The extra 2 files were probably the Left and Right recordings from the Qu-16. My multitracks played perfectly. I’ll have to figure out what to do with those 2 extra files tomorrow. Thanks again!!

PS I see this new SQ5 is encouraging me to buy some plugins. 🙂

Regarding Qu-You, there are just 4 channels needing adjusting for each of 3 mixes on the stage. I just picked up an iPad and that should work well. Over the next while, I’ll slowly introduce Qu-You – to the bass player first. I may look into the Mixing Station, as I’m a Windows guy. I do like the Qu-Pad gui on the iPad. Well thought out!
