I wonder if the new 1.93 update fixes this issue?

No I never heard back from Allen and Heath since I raised that email ticket.

I have not had much chance to work on any music for the past 7 months, nor have I been around on many forums in that time. It is very disapointing that this still looks to be an issue.

I sent A&H an email in very early February, here was there response. It is now July.

“This is behaviour that we are aware of, and is due to the way the Logic backend deals with ‘remembering’ control surfaces.

To give you an idea of what we think is going on –
Our DAW Control Driver creates virtual MIDI ports on an ad-hoc basis. These are addressed by the computer when created, allowing multiple instances, and avoiding conflicts.
Unfortunately this means they are addressed differently every time, and we believe that Logic is no longer looking for controllers by name, but by address.
Once connected, everything runs perfectly, the only issue is with the persistence of the connection, and only with Logic.
There is no problem at all with other DAW’s.

We are in discussion with Apple, and working on a solution for this, but currently the connections will need to be made each time as you have found.”

    Best regards,

    Keith.

I believe so. Shame really when A&H don’t seem to be bothered and these issues don’t arise on other interfaces.

Can I ask a stupid question about the fader flip please – When it shows eq-band’s peaking by a little red dot on that band do you normally just cut that frequency on the respective fader or is there more to it like going into the parametric eq and sweeping, cutting frequency’s?

It wasn’t mute groups by the way, it was certain channels already coming on muted, my mistake.

I have tried Logic again this morning and tried to refresh or find this white button which there isn’t one.

    Logic

I have to manually delete each controller then re-add and that sorts it out, it’s just time consuming.

I can’t see how I would be sending any MIDI to the console, my MIDI setup is completely standalone and involves no MIDI to imac.

The only thing connected MIDI wise is the console. All my synth audio goes through line in’s on the desk.

IT’s a complete joke this integration with Logic as there is none. Even when i come back to setup controllers again in logic there is only one mackie control shown, not four like there should be for the qu32. I’m regretting listening to the audio techinca guy at the show as he made out this works as a mackie controller with no issues – far from it. I keep having to set this up all the time, just so frustrating I bet it never gets fixed.

This integration is useless, mute groups coming on for no reason also. This needs to be fixed.

Bob! I’m not running away that easily as I’m not that easily offended lol 😂

Yes, I have the manual printed off, I have all 32 channels running with H9 effects. Just need to tweak levels as I have not been by the desk for a couple of days!

Thanks Dick, but how exactly do I then assign these then to say 28 channels as a send effect?

Andreas, obviously I have only found this error recently, hence the post.

With respect if it is a Logic or A&H problem is unclear, but I know for sure if this was a Elektron bug it would have been squashed or a software update would have rectified it in a timely manner. Not five years from what I can see is around the time this issue has been about.

What us frustrating to not be told about this when I was tested the desk for hour before I purchased and asked this exact question to audio technica regarding mackie control in Logic.

How long has this issue been about? I read somewhere this was an issue on Cubase also.

    Ok, I have a few spare line in’s (3)

    1 – 6 synth
    7 – spare
    8 – synth
    9 – 14 synths
    15 – 16 spare
    17 – 22 synth
    23 – 30 drum machine
    30 – 32 synth

Preference to have two Eventide H9’s to have as sends over 32/29 channels. Also drum
Machine L&R TRS out as distorion/compressor send over 32/29 channels.
