Thanks Art, Much appreciated.
For now I’ll be racking up one bit of analogue outboard and crossing my fingers! I am a fan of waves, but this show doesn’t need the complexity. We have waves servers in stock but I’m just playing the keep it simple game. Less is more!
Cheers
Bill2018/04/09 at 5:38 pm #70254Hi All,
Sorry – I’m being persistant.
I really need to know if the SQ series has a dynamic EQ in the fx or if it likely will with future FW versions?
The SQ is a very strong contender at the moment, even if I will need to rack up a DPR901 mkII to keep running my show as I do at present.
Cheers
~Bill2018/04/09 at 11:57 am #70233Nice one Steffan.
Could anyone point me towards answers to the first two questions? A list of onboard FX in this FW release and if there are any plans to allow matrices to split to mono?
Cheers
Bill2018/04/05 at 5:53 pm #70133Hi Rob,
Thanks for that, I had a feeling that might be the case. It’s not a huge deal, just would’ve been nice.
Can anybody contribute to the other questions above?
Cheers
2010/05/26 at 7:40 pm #25629It looks to me as if what you’re saying is true for dual rack functions, i.e. loads of channels, one desk. But would it work with the two surfaces? The notes suggest not. Has anybody tried it?
2010/05/26 at 7:32 pm #25628Oh, really, that is interesting. I’ll have a good look through the 1.6 release notes and see if i can see anything about it. My supplier told me I needed two. And the guide to the M-Ace cards seems to reflect this.
Thanks for telling me,
Bil2010/02/01 at 12:22 am #25122Grasshopper?! 100+ channels i can only assume that you do a lot of orchestral work?

Have a look at the Touchscreen PAFL page.
Greetings,
WalterThanks Walter, that does do what i’m looking for but if it were an option for PFL + Sel to follow the ‘Mix’ button it would be much more logical for mixing monitors.
2009/08/19 at 10:18 pm #24562For me, the ability to switch the polarity of a mix would be ideal.
I feel that being able to split an output and then phase reverse one socket is a little overkill, if not dangerous in the wrong hands. And surely if you really needed to do the latter there are a million ways to do it! Like for examlple running an additional matrix of main L – with it’s polarity inverted.
Also as a side note my t-80 is doing monitors on one stage at leeds festival next weekend. If you’d like me to take any pictures for your press people please drop me an email; bill (at) blackmagicaudio (dot) co (dot) uk
2009/08/16 at 2:42 pm #24530I’d like to see a user preference to associate a press of the mix button to the select and or pafl keys.
A couple of examples.
1. Your mixing foh, the mix is sorted and you’re concentrating on fx. You then press a mix button for fx send 1. If this could be linked to ‘sel’ then you’d see the fx unit and be able to tweak as you adjust send levels.
2. You’re mixing monitors and a guiatist asks for a little more vocal, you could push the mix button and the pafl button, but wouldn’t it be good if as soon as you hit ‘mix’ the corresponding mix was instantly in the cue wedge..
I know both of these are options in softkeys, but because there only 8 you’d use them all up quickly!
2009/08/04 at 10:43 pm #24500Yes, I’m a monitor engineer first and that would frustrate me massively on the stage. There are just certain times when it would be a good function, even if it were buried deep in a menu.
I did say at the top of the post about it being a user preference though, it just wasn’t too clear, I was written late in the day after a really long weekend.
2009/08/04 at 2:28 am #24496A quick suggestion from my experience of iLive and various other digital consoles.
It would be really nice to me if there was a user preference for automatically de-select after a set time period. For example when mixing i might want to alter an eq on a bass di, but for some reason don’t select an input strip and end up re eqing the main vocal, things like this can be easily done when the pressure is on and you start rushing.. but if for example there was an ‘auto cancel’ on strip selects after 15/30/60 seconds of no encoder activity, then you’d be forced to press the appropriate select button before making changes.
On another note, our t-80 and idr32 was delivered on thursday. It has done 2 shows this weekend, both with me at the helm and GOSH it sounds really good, and i’m already confident with it. I think there is some work to be done from my perspective about prefered layouts, but that will come with time.
Thanks A&H!
