Took the mixer apart, and tried all flat cables going up to the angled part, all cabling seems ok.
although on the circuitboard close to the flatcable connections, I found a battery that has what appears melted?
see pic. Anybody know what that battery does? I assume when it happened it probably damaged some other circuits

Still disappointing not seeing a 16/8ch stagebox as IDR-16 for compact touring. Will be the one reason keeping us for not investing in the system.

thanks man, I know but we need physical faders. when will someone release a rackmount installation product with a configurable cat-5 faderpanel, same as I-live but in a price point and scale one size down. An ipad is a fantastic tool but faders are faders. Physical wired stuff, always work, no startup time, no gui to understand in order to adjust volumes, then off course all the settings might be set up and adressed on a computer or ipad. But volumes mutes and tap delays please 🙂

I for one never eq first, unless I have to because of hardware imitations 🙂
testtones and measuring devices are ofcourse very good, or you could test the two desks with the same material at pretty much the same level in a room, and experience one of the desks as more noisy, with an as my client describes as -a good gainstructure on the mix. nevermind this discussion, i just had a humble question if someone else has experienced the desk as noisy.

*whats the use of compressing pre eq? isnt that obvious? if compressing hard post eq you end up equalizing whatever changes you have done in the PEQ setting.

*reg. the preamps, I havent seen my clients setup but hey, a quick googling and I found another thread https://community.allen-heath.com/forums/topic/noisy-preamps

Correction, they didnt buy the device but fieldtested it, accordning to the costumer all preamps were set with the material they use on a day to day basis, then all cables were unplugged to see what might be an issue and they found the desk to be noisy. could it be like the CL1-5 consoles, different stages in the preamp? Any others experience this issue? Sounds strange to me but I know the costumer knows what hes talking about.

thanks, then what you tested is what i have experienced, would still prefer the gains being set equal when changing 2 mono IP to 1 stereo. why not a simple question on yes or no to reset gains when changing?

thanks dshriver, now about the preamp page, hmm, unless its possible to set some safe channel issues, im pretty sure that the gains remain in their original setting when changing 2mono inputs to one stereo in the mixrack config setup as this has happen on numerous occacions, unless im doing something wrong:)

Gerger, in a live environment, just me fond of first compressing the signal then shaping it with the eq. Just that there are times when i feel that the comp is working against me as it equals My eq out. That Said i guess some of the Times i actually grab hard on channeleq where i should grab for freq on the master eq instead.

Joe, found that feature also à couple of weekend ago, Will look into that again, seems strange to “hide” it there if that is the case. Anyway thanks for the tip.
