Hi all, a bit new to the Allen and Heath Ecosystem here… Have just purchased the Dynamic Trio for SQ6 expecting to be able to load up multiple instances of the de-esser and use for different vocal inputs as a discrete channel insert, but it appears that it just sits in an FX slot and works globally depending on which channel to link via the insert point to it. I am used to using DAWs so was not expecting this when I purchased the pack.

The website talks of DEEP enabled add ons for the SQ series, but the only one I can see that has that capability is the Tube Stage preamp, unless I am missing something?

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

Sorry for the confusion. The add-on pages should display either of these lines:

“Can be used in place of any input or mix channel compressor with zero-latency.” – this indicates a DEEP Processing unit.
“Available in any of the 8 FX units.” – this indicates an FX.

Preamp models, compressors, GEQs are DEEP.
Multiband, Dynamic EQ, de-esser, HypaBass and delays are FX.

In the A&H shop, the possible applications are always stated, for example with the Dynamic Trio it is highlighted “Available in any of the 8 FX units.”
Deep are also the compressors (“Each compressor can be used in place of any input or mix channel compressor with zero-latency.”)
And the GEQs can be used in the mixes (“All GEQs in the pack can be used in place of any mix GEQ”).

OK, I get that now. Would have been easier to just put a small ‘DEEP ENABLED’ logo on the picture of the units that have that processing available I think 😉

    Cheers,

    Tim
