Hello everyone. My name is Kevin. I work as the Tech Specialist at Evangel Temple Toronto.
Recently, I have been having an issue more stereo aux mix channels on our Avantis Console. So the board is connected to a GX4816 rack that connects to two DX012 Output Expanders (from DX1 of GX4816 to DXA of DX012 – DX2 of GX4816 to DX012). The Avantis Board communicates properly with the rack and expanders and recognizes I/O outputs. My question is how to create more Stereo Auxes for stereo in-ear monitoring. I’ll attach a file of my current set-up since we have 18 mono auxes that we use for in-ear monitoring and 1 stereo aux as well. Please let me know what I can do for that.
Sorry if I maybe misunderstand you:
If you already use 18 mono auxes and 1 stereo aux, you can add a maximum of 6 stereo auxes (see picture).
But then you will have used up all 32 mixes available for this and would have to do without groups and matrices.
> I’ll attach a file of my current set-up …
You didn’t do that.
Avantis has a maximum of 42 busses – including master, groups, effects, matrices, auxes.
One Stereo Aux uses 2 busses.
For configuration check the Allen&Heath tutorial video (search: Avantis Tutorial – Bus Configuration): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAwuOkPPRfo
Oh yes, of course you are absolutely right.
I hadn’t thought about the fact that my main MSum also uses 2 buses.
And if he doesn’t need FX sends and maybe no LR (because he uses it as a monitor console), so he could even gain another 4 stereo auxes.
@SQuser : Thanks for the heads up. I think that’s a better way to reach the desired stereo monitors but it’ll cost us the matrixes that we currently use within our sanctuary. I figured this approach would require me to sacrifice groups and matrixes. However thank you for the response.
I’ll see to it and check in again if there’s any issue or concerns. Thank you.
