Having “Virtual SoftKeys” would be great. Then they could be represented in a few possible locations:
1. The SoftKeys configuration page. They could add the ability to trigger SoftKeys from this screen.
2. A new configurable South Area View.
3. A new configurable Soft Rotaries panel. I use a C3500 and don’t have any panels configured for the Soft Rotaries area on the right screen, since there aren’t any rotaries there to turn. This would be my top choice for where to add “Virtual SoftKeys”.
Realistically, Allen&Heath would probably be cautious to implement this as it might reduce compelling reasons to choose their larger surfaces.
That said, I’ll bet a non-zero number of customers would be interested in a first-party Streamdeck-esque device. Imagine something along the lines of the IP6, but just Soft Keys and maybe small displays for digital labels.
