Hello
I do not trust in WiFi.
I prefere using the CQ20B, but I like to have a direct control to the mixer, as with the built in screene.
So is there a hard wired connection possible, directly from a Laptop to the unit?
Is it as safe as the internal connection of the built on screne in the CQ18T?
I found some hints in the Manual, but not the definite answer to this question.

You should be able to do this with a single CAT5/CAT6 cable and no routers or other network gear, Just PC–>CAT5e–>CQ.
There’s a demo mode in the app so you can check it out by downloading it.

Thanks for your reply. I have the demo app on my PC. So I think it is ready to work with the CQ.
But before purchasing the unit I wanted to be sure.
There is no statement in the manual that the mixpad app works via ethernet vable conection.

Works like a charm.
2023/10/15 at 7:53 am #115685JeradachsParticipantHallo Robert
That is the idea. But why do you use the usb/Ethernet-Adapter?
CQ units have Ethernet. Macbooks not?

Strange!
Do perhaps I have to use the dame workarround.
But then I think I‘ll rather go with an extenal Router.
Really not funny.2024/10/10 at 3:51 pm #126336SinghParticipantGuys, I am looking to get a new desk and everyone is pushing for A&H however I can’t find one that us user name and password to login. This is age of security and digitisation and I cant believe Allen and Heath devices don’t have the option to setup account with different level of access and be password protected.
2024/10/10 at 5:47 pm #126337SQuserParticipantPerhaps someone gave you the wrong advice.
My SQ already has a fairly extensive user management with numerous permissions – see SQ manual pages 91-93 and pic.
And I just see that even the entry-level QU can manage up to 3 users with just a few permissions.
Of course, this is possible to an even greater extent with all the more expensive desks.Attachments:

I got the information after searching through the Allen and Heath manuals and this chat thread.
I would love to be corrected if I have this wrong. Would love it if the CQ also had the same security ‘options’ as the SQ. Was thinking about getting the CQ-18T but are being forced to go for the CQ0-20B just that it has not buttons and can not do anything unless you have the app and a network connection. So this I think would be a bit more secure desk.
2024/10/11 at 4:14 pm #126362JeradachsParticipantJust one stupid question?
Why don‘t you just put a screen saver on?
Olaf
There are some good reasons to use the 20B prior the 18T. But no Buttons on the 20B sounds interesting to me.
I have the 20B back for the 18T to have the more Compact System and quicker access to the menues using the Buttons.
But I miss the stagebox Design and the XLR outs.
And if there are people touching my Mixing desk then will learn how it feels to be touched by the Devil.
2024/10/11 at 4:28 pm #126363SinghParticipantLol! Yeah okay if the screen saver is active will you then need a password or a passcode to get in ? yes don’t why the 18T opted for the 1/4 inch rather than XLRs.
