    Hi there,

I’m a proud user of a sq6 in my classroom. Can somebody tell me what the function is of the Patch button in the left corner of the io matrix. I can switch it to light or keep it grey…
An other question is I can change the Surface strip Assign in the setup but some how I cant make them change by working in mixpad. Here I can only copy them from the board to mixpad, is this right?

    Greetings,

First lesson: read the manual. in particular Page page 19.

You can setup the layer of the mixpad individual from the surface. That is the reason why you can copy the layout of the surface but can’t change it.

Ancient post, but couldn’t find the answer to the function of the Patch Button in the SQ-5 manual.

Interestingly, the SQ-5 and SQ-6 manuals are different and downloading the SQ-6 manual and going to page 19 as recommended helped answer the question.

As best as I can tell, for the SQ-5 the button turns off the confirmation prompt you get each time you press on a square to set or unset a patch. So, for bulk edits, press the Patch button. The rest of the time, have it off so you don’t inadvertently change your patching matrix.

I hope this is useful to someone new to this like me trying to work their way through all the numerous buttons and features.

OK, there must be different manual versions on the web. I found an SQ-5 version with Page 19 and the correct info. Good lesson learned.
