    A button for the compressor models without a threshold setting that require drive of input gain to compress the signal. When Linked the output gain would automatically be attenuated equal to the amount being added.

    I think he means for the 1176 model. And I agree. It needs the input and output to be linked. You see this in a lot of plugin versions of the 1176, and for live use it makes even more sense.

    Yes, they don’t understood. That’s part of the problem.

    It’s a model of an analogue hardware that produces distortion dependent on input level and the amount of processing depends on input and output level.
