    Hi Keith (and other A&H Elves),

    How often do you release firmware updates? Do you plan specific intervals or is it sporadically when adjustments are made?

    Thanks!

    Hi MiG Eater,

    There are no set intervals for updates but at the same time, I wouldn’t say it was sporadic, as there is always something brewing.
    Sometimes the deciding factor or catalyst will be when we have enough features that it makes sense to put a release together, other times it might be looking at the available developer/test team bandwidth and seeing when they can spend a bunch of time on it in a block (the whole system has to be checked over for any feature release as there are many codependencies, so it wouldn’t make sense to test the whole thing for one feature, then test it all again for the next one!).

    (and the reason we never announce releases beforehand is because they could always get pulled or changed at the 11th hour…)

    Cheers,
    Keith.

    Thanks Keith, appreciate the speedy response. That all makes sense.

    @Showtime

    Hi Richard,
    Your previous mention/request was noted, though all our consoles use A&H messaging for digital preamp control. This is the case even with our DT units, where our control protocol is tunnelled through the Dante network. There are no current plans to add other control types, though I can’t say that’s something that will never change.

    Cheers,
    Keith.
