    Hi all.

Just taken delivery of a C1500 and a Scott Dixon case in order to have a lightweight control setup for flying. I wasn’t aware until trying it out today that the desk doesn’t fit unless you remove the black ‘cheeks’ on the side of the desk.

My question is – is this standard practice? Does this uncover any delicate parts of the desk when it’s not in the case?

    Thanks

The case may have been intended for the CTi1500, which is the lightweight version specifically marketed for fly dates and does not come with the plastic end caps.

I have had the plastic sides off a C2500, and it looks like the C3500 in This video. There is nothing delicate there, just the (barely ugly) metal plates.

I can’t imagine that the C1500 is any different.

Considering a lot of people are doing this with their c1500’s, it would be great if A&H would design a thin cover to go over the sides of the console. Something similar to a guitar pickguard.
Sure it wouldn’t be too difficult with a 3D printer.

The side panels are surprisingly heavy. There is nothing under there but bare metal.
