Have you tried pinging the GLD from your computer? Open Command Prompt, then type “ping (IP address of GLD)” and see if you get a response.

I got into a similar menu with our dLive last week. The sequence was to power on, then power off a few seconds later, then power back on. I’m guessing it’s some sort of BIOS menu that’s password locked.

I was actually testing our UPS and forgot to switch back to wall power, so I turned off the console before it got to the boot sequence and I inadvertently discovered the secret menu.

I can’t say for certain your screen was the same as mine, but I’d suspect that it was.

Only way I know to get it back is to restore from a show backup. Save the current scene and show as is before trying anything to insure you don’t loose any current settings.

Those are the two I’ve had a little time on as well, but my primary is the GLD 112. I guess I’m partial to the GLD. 😁

Hope you get it figured out one way or the other! The newer models definitely have better routing options.

If it was me, I’d contact support ASAP and see if you can get an RMA. The GLD is a discontinued series but only recently so you should still be able to get parts.

I love our GLD and the little I’ve used the newer consoles from A&H, I can’t stand them. The new ones have fewer and fewer buttons and knobs; focusing mostly now on touch displays and menus. I’d personally want to keep the GLD as long as I could.

It sounds like a clocking issue. You need to set both the GLD and SQ clocks to reference the Dante cards, not the internal clocks. On the GLD it is Setup > Audio > Audio Sync > Audio Clock Source. Change to Slave Option Card.

    Hope that helps!

Do you have the sync clock (or whatever it’s called) set to use the Dante card? You don’t want it to be set to internal if I remember correctly. Are you getting any errors in the Dante controller software?

Most likely. Check the routing tab.

So we ended up having to send ours into AMS and they replaced the SBC. I tried re-seating the cables as well and that did not help. Repair ended up costing about $2000 after getting a rental and shipping the original unit. Works great now!

Just out of curiosity, how long have you had the surface?

I had a similar issue like that when the surface was cold (around 60° F). If your surface isn’t under warranty and you’re comfortable taking the back cover off, you might check the USB headers going into the LCD strips and reseat all the connectors. Otherwise, I’d suggest what Steffen recommended.

Only thing I can think of is if someone is changing the gain for those inputs.

Sorry, that’s probably not much help. Hope you figure it out!

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve tried all that, minus the 15 minute wait-time. I’ll give that a try tomorrow.

I’m in the US. I’ve already reached out to American Music and Sound, but waiting to hear back as it was the weekend when I left a message.

Are you wanting the direct outs to mute when a DCA is muted? The GLD doesn’t have dedicated mute groups. The DCAs are your only option.

If this doesn’t allow you to do what you need, it’s probably not possible on the GLD platform without some sort of workaround.

    DIR OUT SRC pull-up window
The global source for the input channel Direct Outputs can
be set here using the drop-down menu. This setting affects
    all channel Direct Outputs:
     Post-Preamp
     Post- HPF
     Post-Gate
     Post Insert Return
     Post-PEQ
     Post-Comp
     Post-Delay
    Touch the buttons to set:
     Follow Fader (pre/post fader)
     Follow Mute (pre/post mute)

See page 15 of the GLD Touch Screen Reference

I don’t believe there is a USB tab.

For recordings you tap on the play icon in the bottom right of the screen.

For recalling saved shows on a USB stick, you go to the Shows/Scene section of the setup menu (not recalling exactly what it’s called off the top of my head). There you can transfer files to and from a USB data source.

You want to use FAT32 if I’m remembering correctly.

Are you getting audio out of the headphones when you enable PAFL on the Main bus? Also, try using the signal generator. Are you using the dSnake for the Mains output or the surface outputs?
