Other people have had the same basic problem including myself, randomly dropping connection to the Qu Pad app while still have 100% signal connection to the router while other apps continue to work.
What I did to greatly improve my issues was to set a static IP address on the mixer (in my case a Qu Pac), get a better router and switch over to 5ghz. The route in this case is a Netgear Nighthawk R7000, I did just use a TP Link C7 Archer at an all day outdoor event with no issues.
For the time being I have turned off the 2.4ghz broadcast, hide the SSID 5ghz broadcast and I do not have any encryption on the WIFI broadcast.
With in range of the router this gives me a 95% connection from the mixer to the App.
I’ll do some back and forth testing of the routers and see if there is any difference there. At this past show with the TP Link router in place the connection never dropped and I did a lot of walking around in and outside the entertainment area.
On a side note a couple weeks ago I had a band engineer carrying his own Behringer X32 rack mixer and he was using a very cheap Belkin 2.4ghz router, didn’t make any effort to place the router up high and with in a direct line of site to where he was and he was using an older I pad. This all took place in a very crowded 2.4ghz area where using 2.4mhz I take app connection hits all time even after the setting the router to the least used channel. He did not loose App connection to his Behringer X32 rack one time!
For what it’s worth my Ipads are Air 2 models.
2016/07/24 at 11:17 pm #57349As for the multi-pair copper snake option and connectors…..
For an install you may need to look at buying bulk snake cable and finishing
it out with the needed fan out, box, floor boxes, wall plate, ect. after you
install the cable in the building. It will be far easier to run just the cable through the walls, floors and ceilings
than a finished snake with a box and finished out fan tail.
Actually in some locations it would be impossible to run a finished snake cable through
a building as a permanent install.Through your major snake suppliers, Rapco, Whirlwind, CBI, Pro Co you can order bulk cable and if it would work for you can order them with just the box wired and finished with a blunt end on the other end of the cable to still allow for installation.
2016/07/05 at 12:33 am #56979My iPads are Air2’s and I have turned off all un-needed functions. The only apps I have loaded on them are Qu-pad of course and DBX Venue to control my 360 DSP’s.
Normally after set up and sound check I’ll pull the DBX360 cables from the router so the only on the router is the QU-PacWhat model TP-Link routers do you use.

2016/07/02 at 3:41 pm #56935I want to follow with everyone on my connection drop out problems.
I would drop connection to the QuPAC while my Ipad still solid connection to the router.
One of the worst times this happened was in area with very few other wifi devices!I did a few things all at the same time and it has been working so much better now.
– took Andreas suggestion and set the QuPac to a fixed IP address.
– bought a better router, in my case it’s a Netgrear Nighthawk
(I’m still open to trying other routers)
– I set the router to broadcast the SSID (some have said a hidden ID could cause connection issues and does little for security)
– I primarily connect using the 5g signal.2016/06/13 at 12:07 pm #56543Thanks for all the info.
The routers default IP was 192.168.1.1 in the router config I set the routers IP to 192.168.55.1 .The DHCP range is from 192.168.55.100 thru 192.168.55.107 I have the router
set for a total of seven DCHP connected devices. So your suggesting to only configure the QU for fixed IP and leave everything else (my Ipads) DHCP.
Thanks again
2016/06/13 at 11:18 am #56541At this time I’m using DHCP, I’ll try going to fixed IP addresses for both iPads and the
Qu Pac.
Any suggestions what to set them to.2016/06/12 at 11:37 pm #56531Same problem here, qu pad disconnects or will not connect even with 100% router signal strength. Tried various router settings except MAC filtering while turning off all other security, I will be trying that very soon! The problem dose not seem directly related to the amount of other wi fi traffic in the area, at least in my case. I’m using a Linksys wrt54gl router at this time, however I’m just about to order an Apple Airport Extreme.
Any suggestions before I place the order? I can’t miss anymore solos because of a lost connection!!
My system is a Qu Pac and iPad Air 2’s.2016/06/09 at 3:45 am #56429Al, tricky work around I’ll give that a try, though as in the analog EQ patched into a compressors side chain when the compressor is triggered it’s going to compress the entire audio signal content.
I guess I’m looking for something like the classic BSS DPR901 or DPR422 where it can be set to only compress the the frequency area that needs to be “de-essed.
For those who have not used one of those you can set the frequency that needs to be reduced and there is Q/width control that will let adjust how narrow or wide of an area around the center frequency is compressed.2016/05/29 at 12:29 pm #56148I have no idea about your venue, what type of events you do or the system but sometimes creating a separate mix for the center channel can work very well. Maybe a vocal only, vocals with just a few select instruments, ect.
This could be done a few different ways, building the center mix within the matrix, post fade aux mix, direct group out routing.
You could do the same basic thing within your ZED420 now.
2016/05/22 at 12:43 pm #55957Is there anyway to revert back to the 1.82 iPad app version? I have a QuPac in an install and their iPad auto updated so they can’t control the mixer now. I called them and told them to turn off auto updates the day 1.9 was released but it did not get done.
If not I’m making a run to do the firmware up on their QuPac.
For what it’s worth 1.9 works great for my QuPac, used it all day for a festival yesterday. The Qu Drive control is a big plus for me.
Thanks
Mike C.2016/05/14 at 12:59 pm #55743High pass filters on the outputs would be great. As for a full crossover function I prefer
to keep that duty dedicated to a system DSP, crossover or in a DSP power amp.2016/05/13 at 4:46 am #55730I just bought a Qu Pac, had a Qu16 will all the features of the Qu Pac 32 with an addition of 16 faders and channels 17 to 32 being on another layer it would have made the final decision a little harder. In the long run for my needs the compact size of the Qu Pac is what works for me.
I posted this before, I think the new Qu SB would be very use full if it could be a dual purpose unit and operate as both a mixer unit or a stage box like the AB168. For larger shows it could be a stage box and for smaller shows if could out as a mixer unit.
2016/05/02 at 4:34 am #55393It could be a dual function piece of equipment. If don’t need a remote stage box or for QuPac users not needing more than 16 channels for some events you would have another mixer to go out and make some money with.

2016/04/30 at 12:51 am #55350Will this be a full board firmware update and a Qu Pad update or just one or the other.
Thanks
