Sad as I believe this will be the last feature update for the GLD. Can anyone at A&H confirm this? I really was holding out hope.

2017/12/19 at 3:02 am #67025Side-chain compression/expansion? Please say its in there…

I would advise against packing your ME-1s (or anything else) with the cords still attached. You will damage the connectors in short order. Spend the short amount of time taking them off.

2017/12/06 at 3:43 am #66711Mac, I have six ME-1s and the same pelican case. How much did you pay for the foam? Thank you, John

Side-chain compression opens up a whole new avenue to creative possibilities. Do a search in these forums and some have mentioned what they do with it. It is present on mixers MUCH cheaper.

2017/12/01 at 3:24 am #66623I figured it out. It was me. I was not looking at the main mix when I was trying to pan. Probably looking at a mono aux. I’m so dumb. Sorry to disturb you.
2017/11/14 at 6:47 pm #66285I applaud you for going in-ear.
Sorry but there is no way to directly connect the analog GL2400 to the digital Avioms. Aviom sells an analog to digital converter for that purpose. I do not feel it will be worth it to purchase a converter unless you get a smoking deal on one, like $50 to $80. It will most likely eat up all your GL2400 aux outs. The GL probably does not have 16 aux outputs. I know the GLD series talks directly to the Avioms. Some other mixers in A&H digital line may speak Aviom too, I just don’t know.
Good luck. John
2017/11/01 at 11:58 pm #66043True that Rob. Scene crossfade is a must for theater mixing when you do programming. My biggest play had 177 scenes. Crossfade made my recalls buttery smooth.

2017/10/27 at 11:25 am #65921If the GLD had side chain compression and I would be happy for quite a while to come. Without it my console sits unused in its case for over a year now.
2017/10/24 at 2:42 am #65821Would be nice to know my GLD ecosystem is not passe. Will just have to wait two more days.
2017/09/07 at 1:17 pm #65154Nicola, Thank you for the info. I do hope this update is significant. Any other hints as to what is being implemented?
2017/09/04 at 9:09 pm #65117If it is accompanied by a software/hardware update I would be interested. If not I would ask WHY?
2017/06/26 at 10:28 pm #64028Just to let you know…
Your advice was spot on. It was a sample frequency mismatch.
Thank you..

Thanks for your perspective of someone who was there at NAMM. That rep may have given you short shrift seeing little fruit from his interaction with you since you were only inquiring about a lame duck product. I hope I do not have to wait too long to see if they are going to bring out a replacement for the GLD80/112 or simply let it coast. It would be nice to continue to utilize my two A to D chassis, Dante interface and my ME-1 mixers. Personally I would like to see a new processor board and keep my mixing surface. If designed properly that board would not run out of steam for a while.
I have seen the price of my system go down three times after my purchase due to competition. I bought in too early on the advice of a distributer who assured me A&H would improve the way scenes are handled. I thought he new something but…
Companies can either make you happy you spent a lot for a long partnership or spent a little on disposable gear. I do not see too much middle ground. Good luck choosing the new mixers.

2017/01/22 at 11:04 pm #60817Well…. I’m sure glad I wasn’t holding my breath for any good news on the GLD front. Not a bit of news. Sad.
