    Rick,

The editor seems to be a duplicate of what you see on the console. No added features. [:(]

I would pay my fair share to get a spreadsheet view of the scene memories.

Heck yes I’ve been there. I have been there before the first digital board was ever produced and many times since with modern gear.

The crash has been pretty much documented and solved as much as any software can.

After A&H releases a new firmware update they are pretty much absolved of issues due to old firmware. It is incumbent upon the owners to keep the firmware up to date. If issues happen on new firmware then that is a different story.

Isn’t the heading of this post unnecessarily dramatic and alarmist?

    Chris,

Good point. It can be done your way too. I do not use my DCA as an on/off switch, I fade so it may not have occurred to me to do it that way.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

I use a single DCA to control all my FX returns at once. In my application (church praise band) I want all the effects off between songs or while the pastor is speaking.

When the band is mid-song, it is nice to push the effects higher during lower level passages and lower when the whole band is pumping. Less effects makes more room in the mix during crescendos. Sort of like an ambience compressor. Being subtle is the key.

iPads are as expensive as ME1. Too expensive to equip a six piece band.

Everyone I know carries an iPhone. Nobody I know carries an iPad.

One more vote for an iPhone app.

    Please.

I know the GLD is a massive computer. I know computers and their programmers are not perfect.

My GLD touch screen froze last night in my home but was still passing audio.

It would be helpful if there was a three button press that would reboot the touch screen subsystem without loosing power to the rest of the console. Sort of like a “Ctl+Alt+Del” three finger salute windows had.

    Thank you.

I was programming my GLD80 in my home pre-gig and had the touch screen become absolutely unresponsive. Even the buttons to the right of the screen had no effect. I did not wait more than 30 seconds then I simply cut the power. It rebooted, recovered where I was in my programming and worked the rest of the evening.

It would be helpful if there was a three button press that would reboot that subsystem without loosing power to the rest of the console. Sort of like a “Ctl+Alt+Del” three finger salute windows had.

I am going to suggest it in the appropriate thread.

    Thanks

    +1 on the scene crossfades.

In fact individual fader in fades or out fades would be nice. the cheapie 01v has that.

    Antony,

    I appreciate your speedy response.

We may be saying the same thing in different ways. So at the risk of being redundant:

Set up Soft 10 to advance (increment) to the next stored scene, recall it and take that scene. FYI: I also set up Soft 1 to decrement the memories similar to Soft 10 incrementing. I usually only increment but want decrement handy for rehearsal.

    Then, in operation;
Choose any scene saved in the scene memories by any number of methods presently available to the GLD80 user. Have the presently active scene be highlighted.

Pressing soft 10. I would expect GLD to:
1- Advance the highlighted scene to the next saved scene (skipping unused scenes as it does now).
2- Activate everything saved in that memory (faders, routing, etc).
3- Highlight the newly active scene indicating where you are NOW.
4- Move the active scene number to the center of the window on the touch panel (as it does now).

I am pleased I struck a chord with you folks. The more people that “like” this maybe a brighter light will shine on the suggestion to A&H.

    Thank you,

    John

Yay!! I saw iPad app V1.20 on the apple site. Now, time for upgrading.

Delay upgrading if you depend on your iPad app. The situation should be corrected soon but wait until you have V1.20 of both the GLD and iPad app.

iPad app is presently only V1.10. It will not even connect if your GLD has been upgraded to V1.20. Upgrade now if you can leave the iPad home for a few weeks while you enjoy the new features of GLD80 V1.20.

I had to down rev my software to V1.12 because I needed my iPad app for a gig this weekend.

    Thank you,

    John
